 |  500 Applicants before me!!!!
Oh my, I received a call this morning from the WLS Surgery Center. The Coordinator stated that there are 500 applicants to be looked through before they even get to me! She said that right now she is scheduling individuals that have approved applications for the end of June.
In the meantime they require on class before the initial visit. Of which is held once a month, I will be going June 4th.
I should of asked how many applications they go through in a week. Now I am worried, maybe I will not qualify.

It's all a process. My docs office had the seminars once a month too and there were LOTS of people there. How many docs are there? As long as you get your place in line, they will get to you! Maybe by the time you get all the other stuff done, you'll be up!

That was her nice way of saying when we get to your application we will call you. Honey dont stress it ok. I agree with Kelly by the time you go though your steps it will be your turn. I might have missed a post you telling us what you have done so far..... but if you dont mind telling again we might can guide you though some of it including contacting your insurance company.

I was self pay and it took me over a half year to get my surgery. My daughter had her surgery in Dec. of 2006 and I started my process in Feb. and I first got my surgery on Sept. 10. Their are 3 doctors that do gastric bypass in Fargo. But I took the same doctor that did my daughters surgery. I had to go to appointments with the doctors, meetings and then 3 months trying to get as much weight off as possible for a safer surgery. It felt like it took forever to get to the day of the surgery but it sure was worth the wait and it came before i knew it.
So the surgery will be here before you know it and it comes so fast, just keep yourself busy till then.

The application included the ins and outs of the surgery, in addition to class dates and required physical, etc. I will be having my physical this coming Monday and my doctor will send the results there way. The paperwork I received said that a doctor will review the application within two weeks of receipt and get back to my primary to schedule the first of two pre-op appointments. They have a total of two doctors on staff at the surgery center for WLS.

You won't get your date unless you stay in the line.
There's lots to do pre op before you can get your date, so don't worry, hang in there and just stay on top of it all.
