Our insurance requires all individuals inquiring about WLS to attend an Orientation meeting before they will even make an appointment (UCD Health System/Blue Cross). I called to follow up today and I am glad I did. They change the location of the meeting (just down the street). The gal said they close the doors promptly at 5:00 pm. If you’re late you're out of luck and will have to wait until next month. While on the phone, she said now that I know you will be attending the meeting tonight I will schedule you for a consultation. The next available appointment was July 18th. They only do consultations on Fridays and it will be a four hour appointment.
She did not say anything about 500 before me, but seem to indicate that not everyone gets through the application process to the consultation. Maybe some change their minds after the orientation meeting.
Either way happy to get to go to the orientation meeting and get informed.

Congrats.
The only way you can get surgery is by sticking by your guns whatever, so, even if it takes time, keep jumping the hoops, and you'll make it there.
