Just wonderinng...does anyone know how close the surgeon is as far as measuring your height? My reason for asking is all my life nurses measure me at 5'3 or 5'4. I know it seems minor but my BMI is so close and that's all I have to bank on.

You measure tallest the first thing in the morning, and measure shortest late at night.
The difference will be about half an inch to an inch.
This is because the space between the bones in the joints spread while you lay at rest, and then gravity takes over during the day, making the space in the joints smaller.

The advice given to me was to bend your knees a little! I didnt have to do this because I had enough comorbidities but I have a friend who did it!

Here's the dilema: you need to take off your shoes so you don't measure as tall, but you need to leave your shoes on to add that extra pound or two to make the weight requirement. What to do? What to do?
Been there, done that. I was refused at first because I wasn't a BMI of 40. After months of trying to find out if I had any illnesses that counted as co-morbidities I just said "Screw this, if there's one thing I can do well, it's gain weight". I gained 8 pounds to get my BMI up to 40 by eating an ice-cream cone every day for a couple of weeks.

The height.. I have always been 5 10 1/2... seems I am coming in at 5 9.. no issues with bone degeneration/ osteo issues etc... I am scanned every year or so.
I knew my shoes would fall off my feet as I lost weight, but didn't expect to shrink down an inch or so. hmmm. (Was it a short person measuring me?)

I was always 5'10", now I'm 5'9". What happened to that inch? Dunno. Don't care. I feel great the way I am, so wherever I went, I don't miss it.
Peanut, on the other hand, absolutely insists on that 1/2" (5' 2-1/2")!! I figure I may shrink, but as long as both feet still reach the ground, I'm okay!

It all depends upon shoes (if you are wearing any), who is measuring you, and how you are standing. A 1/2 inch difference isn't out of the ordinary.
