Unhappy Psych

I am very frustrated and disappointed. I have been approved by the NUT and surgeon and have done everything I have been asked and even what I haven't such as loosing 29 lbs. And he says he needs another appointment, my third because he is worried I am not going to be able to maintain my current diet that has been totally approved by the NUT. He made me so angry. I cannot be more prepared and he said my priority is backwards that I care if he thinks I am ready. In reality I don't care if he thinks I am ready as long as he signs the stupid paper. Very sad. Its like I was on a train headed in the right direction and I totally went off the track. Fortunately I didn't go eat a lot but I totally saw what it would be like to not turn to food. Why would he keep making me come back? I am a nurse I know all the details. Why would he keep harping on there being no way for them to know if we will succeed. I didn't want to lie and tell him what he wanted to hear. I really wanted it to make a difference. What a fool I am.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Oh... I'm so sorry. I wonder if you could ask someone at your surgeons office for advice on the matter- hang in there! HUGS

I can only imagine how you feel. My Dr. was going to make me wait another 3 months to have my surgery but I was able to convince him that my progress was enough to have the surgery when it was scheduled.

I know that I would have thrown a fit if he had rescheduled. I am sorry about the situation you are in.

I don't understand. This was the psych who is thinking you are not ready, or the surgeon? I'm sorry I'm confused, and I'm also sorry for your frustration. Have things changed since you posted this question?

These are supposed to be pychcologists right??? Why would they screw with these peoples minds knowing full well that they need to be is a certain FRAME of mind to be successful with the surgery - with this tool that we are getting. I don't understand that. My Pych doc was a cold fish...SHE was really cold and stand offish and snippy. If I met her on the street or at the store or where-ever I would have thought " what a b$#@h" sorry......but it is true. It took a lot of effort, but I had to force myself to sound normal when I answered her...... UGH... But, unless the people are really out of whack (there have been quite a few that should have been held back that were sent on their merry whacky way) when some of you are ready, willing and able to handle it and are held back. I think that really messes with the mind in a bad way.... Just my $.02

well that's unfortunate.. but maybe just go and show that you are trying to do what they asked and are putting in the effort.
At our clinic you must meet with the team (dietician, nurse and social worker) 2 times before the green light is given for meeting with the surgeon.
I lucked out with my social worker cuz I found her to be the kindest most genuine person and I enjoyed my appt with her the most. She cleared me after my first visit which was nice cuz then I only had to see the other 2 on my next visit which cut the time a fair bit.
Do you have the choice of asking to see a diff psych? or is there just the one there?

Is it the surgeon that wont go ahead with the surgery? I am not quite understanding who is holding you up here. The NUT is the nutritionist?
