Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  Insurance question I wondered if anyone out there has BCBS of North Carolina? That's what I have. My paperwork has not been submitted yet, but should be within the next week. If anyone has this type of ins., how long does it usually take to hear back from them? Do they require a 6 month suprv. diet? I'm anxious and want to know what I have to look forward to  .

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass    | Well i have EMPIRE BSBC ppo and my approval came fast. MY surgeons office prepared all the required documentation and i did nothing to get approved but go to all the required doctors for clearances. GOOD LUCK its a very exciting time!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I have BCBS of North Carolina....it was very quick....as long as you have a letter from your doc saying you have been overweight for 5 years than your good...took about two weeks to approve and schedule surgery...so I hope your prepared ....from my first doc appt it took exactly 2 months for me to HAVE my surgery...where in nc are u going to have the surgery?

Once they tell you yes ask for the critera you have to meet and write it down and date it along with the person you spoke with. Thats your first step.
