Exclamation The Dreaded Weigh in

Well, I got up showered, dressed and tried to look forward to the weigh in. I was really hoping I would either be the same or lose something. Of course I get there and the nurse is out on some learning thing. Noone else knows how to work the stupid scale, to replace the paper of all things. So I take off my shoes and prepare myself for the scale. I "GAINED" 2.5 pounds. I don't know how I am gaining instead of losing unless I am making muscle. Of course I won't know that now because all they got was my weight. I guess I should just go to all protein shakes and forget eating any real food. I really don't know what else to do. I would assume drinking the Atkins shakes should not be putting weight on me. That leaves dinner time when I eat protein and my veggies. Anyone else have any suggestions, or words of wisdom. I am trying to stay positive about this, but it is really depressing 2 months in a row having a gain.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Wink Hey Cherri!

I just want you to know that is completely NORMAL to be UP.....
I've realized over my 14mos. of Post op that during the month my weight will go up and down...and FINALLY I've been seeing patterns with loss and gain.

I'm actually up today....but, I have been eating really bad this last week...b/c I know I'm responsible.

Go easy on yourself....focus on getting in your protein and vitamins...and you will do great! Glad you are with us.....

Can't wait to see your before and after pictures....
Post away!!!

Default The Dreaded Weigh in

I wanted to let you know I am just starting my third month of my six month pre-op diet for the insurance. Its just so frustrating to know you are doing everything you can, and not get anywhere. I am going to do some reading on the Celiacs Disease too. I have been weighing myself off and on all month and the scale was even higher. Most of my family can't understand it either as they see what I eat. I have to say I feel terrible today after the weigh in. Like I am a failure to myself, because I just must be doing something wrong.

I want to give you some positive thoughts:
You are not a failure. Dont feel that way.
Nothing will keep you from your surgery.
You will be successful and make it to goal in time.
When you need to vent we are all here.
Please dont ever feel like a failure.

Just make sure you get your water in all day long too. I am not familiar with celiacs BUT i know i retain when i dont drink enough. You are going to do fine. Keep your head up.

I have been wondering if you were on steroids for Celiac's disease, because one of the side effects of steroids is weight gain. So, if you are, that could be the culprit.
Don't be too hard on yourself, if you have been doing everything you are told to, then it probably isn't because you are not eating right, etc. It might be the stage that you're at.
Also, are your clothes any looser? Loose clothes are an indication that you are gaining muscle while losing fat.
((((((HUGS)))))) Don't give up, just do the things you need to daily, when they add up, they will end up being something big.

Please don't be so hard on yourself ( I know its easier to say than to believe) I'm up a couple of pounds today due to eating to much salt yesterday and PMS!! I'm really beginning to hate that time of the month!!! Hang tuff and it will be OK.
