Default SO... i'm here again trying my journey

Ok well i havew been thinking about wls again and I want to go talk to my doctor... i'm so worried he will say no like the last doctor did.. but i duno what to tell him.. i'm.. i duno... let me tell you a littl about my story.. maybe some of you have some ideas of how i should approach my doctor.. I was on a low carb diet really strict REALY STRICT for about a year and lost 60 lbs.. i maintained that weight for the last 4 years sticking to a diet still low in carbs but not as strict... about a year and a half ago i became a truck driver.. and in december recieved some medical news(nothing life threatening) but none the less still traumatic for me... i have been put on antidepressants since april.. and i have gained back about 30 lbs.... i now weigh 240 lbs and i'm 5'4 which makes my bmi 41.2 i wanna go to my doctors with information so he doesn't think this is just something i dreamt up in a day or so i want him to knowwhaty i want.. and have thought about this... i have to admit i have gone to some lengths i never though i would to avoid gaining weight... think making trips to the bathroom after eating ... and i'm so sick of this.. i have always been active... but i have always been big. anyone have any suggestions for me about how to approach my doctor.. and also some advice and go information sites i can do research on... also things mayu be harder for me because i live in canada.. anyone have any advice

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Well, the only way you can find out about your dr is to be up front with him about what you want, so being honest is the best way. True many drs still don't think much about the surgery, but there are many who do. You probably are a good candidate for surgery, so just go with what your heart wants.
(((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

Hi Pamma ... 1st of all its nice too see another Canadian on the site! Alot of surgeons and family doctors in Canada ( mind you not all of them ) will shy away from doing WLS if there isnt any co-mobiesitys . ie...High Blood Pressure , Diabetes , High Colesteral , Sleep Apnea ... Being severly over weight , sometimes isnt enough ! Ive done alot of research over the internet...talking to other Canadians on other sites , dont get me wrong, I wish you all the luck in the world and I hope you do get a surgeon . Also if you do get a surgeon , chances are is that your in for a long wait for surgery. In Western Canada ( Alberta ,BC ,Manatoba ) the wait times are between 3 - 5 years ! Even in some places in Ontario the wait time is close to 3 years ! Hy wait time is slowly coming to an end and it will be close to being a year and a half wait ! LOL...I never thought I would say this but I guess Im one of the lucky ones ! Im sorry to sound like a doom and gloomer but there might be an alternative for you ! If you can afford it and if you live close to the US border , alot of WLS Centres there will take Canadian Patients ! Weight times are far less there ! Im sorry for not being much help but I do hope things go smoothly for you what ever direction you decide to go !

I cant begin to tell you about where you are from, but you can not find anywhere here that will give you a payment plan. It is mostly a finance company that they refer you to. I have never tried any of them, but I have heard that there are good and bad. So, just research anyone as much as you can.

SO me Pamela-Dawn.. is going to have the surgery.. i can't believe how quick and easy the approval was.... I can't begin to tell you how excited i am.. WOW...
