We'd love to get to know you....soooo glad you are here. Renewed Reflections is a fairly new Support board....so we have a few that are here that are a few years post op...and then 'regulars' that are a bit over a year....and then a HUGE group of us that are less than a year! | Whipper Snapper  | Thanks all for all the nice words in your replys. Makes my day!!!...hehehe Ok my Journey, At 270 pounds with sleep apnea, and many years up/down/ weight and working in the medical field..I decided after 1 year of researching & belonging to wls groups that it was time to proceed. I had open rny on Feb. 6, 2001. My only post complication was a huge abdominal hernia,( my liver was even on the outside).. which I had repaired along with a tummy tuck( 18 months post rny) because they needed to remove the moderate hanging skin I had left after losing 125 pounds. My surgeon was concern since I had extra hanging skin that this would up my chances for post infection. He could not do a true abdominal plasty due to the fact he had to remove lots of torn muscle and replace muscle with mesh. You can't tightrn mesh.

| Whipper Snapper | my greatest Joy has been be able to ride a horse again, so I bought one (a quarter horse named Simon)....and I try to ride each day....I also love being able to play really play with my 4 grandchildren..I love being able to be a kid again..hehehehe..

My Momma has a ranch in SanAntonio...and has a bunch of horses. I haven't been able to ride in YEARS!!! WOW.....next time I'm home - which will be next summer - I'll be able to ride again!!! I'm soooo excited about this....it's been sooo long, I hadn't even thought of it! Thanks! So....do you board Simon, or do you live on enough land to board him yourself?? That is sooo amazing that you are able to ride everyday....soooo fun. And of course, really playing with your grandchildren...that is amazing! Congrats on all your Success!!
