So....here is what happened today. I called the hospital, like I said I would, to ask weather they had received the fax for the respiratory therapy compliance. It took a little looking but, apparently they have received it; however, they do not have the fax that shows that I had another of the procedures required. Here is the kicker, I watched the folks in medical records, at the hospital where the procedure was preformed, fax the records to them, a month ago. (okay, maybe three weeks ago) Tomorrow I am getting a land line, I will fax them the papers my self. I would have done this sooner but I didn't want to get a land line, I got a deal on it though so, now I can take care of this myself!! Of course, I will again call tomorrow to see if maybe, some one over there wipes off the dusty copy of the paper I need and files it where it is suppose to be.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Yes it is a different world out there with people who don't understand the importance of their role in doing their work. When training staff I always educate them that their job is more than the clerical task at hand but important to the entire process of the entire operation.

This is more important when people's lives are on the line as with hospitals.

Case in point, I saw a weight loss doctor (non surgical) who dictated a report for my pmp to fill out my insurance papers for me to have wls. 6 week later I am following up with my pmp when he tells me that he didn't receive anything from the wl dr. So I call that dr's office.

I am told that all his dictation gets sent out from the hospital to an outside 3rd party service to type and then send back to him to sign and then mailed. They said it takes anywhere from 6-8 weeks.

Are they friggin nuts? Does no one understand the stupidity in having medical procedures and peoples lives put on hold because of an inefficient system that some person totally lacking common sense put in (probably a relative of the hospital administrator).

So yes you need to keep following up and keep calling and demanding timely service. This is about your life, not theirs so forget about protocol and help them get your paperwork through. If necessary, get copies of everything you can and send them or drop them off yourself.

Best of luck!
