Default Updates and a question for the Vets!

Hello everyone! Long time no talk! I just wanted to give you all a little update. I am exactly 3 months out today and I am down just around 50 pounds! I feel great and look even better. I have given all of my fat clothes away, even the ones I really liked because they just don't look right. I was wearing an 18-20 when I got started but am wearing a size 14 now. I have made a shopping trip to goodwill and my sister's fat clothes happen to be size 14 so that worked out great.

For everyone who asks me what I am doing to lose the weight I tell them I am eating much less under a doctors care and working out regularly which is not a lie. I find that once I list all of the things I do not eat or drink like fried foods, bread, pop, juice, rice, people quickly become disinterested so I don't have to bring up the surgery part.

My mother has come to town to visit so my husband and I sat down and told her about my procedure. She said she was glad I did not tell her before hand because she would have tried to talk me out of it. But seeing me, she is glad I did it. She has managed not to tell my dad who will be here Friday and I am interested to see how he reacts. After I tell my father, all those who need to know about my procedure will know.

I have zero regrets and would do it again without a second thought if I had to turn back the clock.

I do have a question for you seasoned vets though......
Ironiclly, my mom and husband don't think I eat enough and I am starting to feel like I can eat more now than I have been able to in the last 3 months. Is this normal??? I am not eating a large amount of food but I am definitly eating a little more than before. I am very nervous about backsliding or stretching my pouch. Let me know your thoughts.

It was good catching up and I will post some pics soon!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Well honey your gonna hear that alot .....meaning they are gonna think your not eating enough for a good while. You wont eat nothing like you used to again forever lets hope. Think about that. Yes it looks so little compared to what we used to eat or even compared to what they do. Its supposed to. Im three years out and my husband is still amazed how little I still eat. My sons GF can still out eat me over 4 times a meal and shes a tiny little thin whom just had a baby and weighs 130. Shes 5'10.

If you feel you can add a bit more you can try it . But dont over do it. Follow your list im sure you were given and try to stick with it. Make sure the protein comes first then veggies then fruit if there is room left. If you over eat its gonna come back up or make you feel bad. Dont over do it. You gotta listen to your own body honey. Not to what others tell ya ok? Remember you are the only one that can hear it speak. Sounds odd yes..... but it wlll let you know what it needs.

Congratulations on your wl so far,you are doing fantastic!!!Thats definitely a conversation killer...telling all the things you do not eat anymore will end a conversation fast lol!!! I ate what was on my sample menu at that stage, but I could not eat what all was listed.Follow your surgeons rules and listen to your pouch,it will definitely let you know when to stop eating,I had to learn that one the hard wayGood luck and don't be a strangerKim

Hey Flux, You will definitely feel like you can eat more, but just continue to follow the rules and listen to your pouch. You will hear all sorts of things from others -- "you're losing too fast" or "you don't eat enough" or even "you can eat just a little of this, it won't hurt". Don't listen to them--listen to your pouch and your doc/nut. You've done great; keep up the good work.

Congratulations on doing so well.
It's quite normal to be able to eat just a bit more now, than right after surgery.
You're about the time where everything is almost settled and in working order now, so your pouch will be able to deal with a bit more. Just don't overdo it, be diligent about your choices, and if your pouch seems uncertain, measure your foods, and stick to that amount.
