Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Wow, you are an insperation! I was told in my psych consult to never think that i could be as skinny as you have gotten. I am the same hight and around the same starting weight as you are and it is nice to see that it can be done. Were you always a large person, or did your weight come on later in life? What is it that got you through the tuff times?

Wow You guys are so nice!

I did not go into this thinking that I would ever be this small, I just wanted to be around 200 lbs (OK 199), and healthy. I remembered 180 - 200 being a weight that I could deal with. I can remember my surgeon telling me on one of my follow up visits "I can see you at 140 lbs" I was shocked and said "really how do I look"??? He just laughed, the thought of being 140 was amazing, but weighing 115 is really amazing.

Although the funny part is I used to get upset because I could not find clothes in my size (30/32), now I have a hard time finding clothes that fit, because I am so short, I sometimes shop in the little girls section! Their clothes is much cheaper than women's clothes. Today I have a collection of clothes in my favorite color (pink) and I wear pink every single day of my life, because I can. Before I wore what would fit.

The other thing my surgeon told me was the first 100 lbs was on him, the rest was up to me. And I have lost 210 lbs total! I was thin in school, but when I was pregnant with my first son at 19, I gained 100 pounds and kept going from there (I was overweight for 17 years).

Something that has stayed with me all these years was a statement the doctor made during my psych evail, she said "what is going to be your motivation to exercise when the weight is falling off"?? I looked at her and said, I have no idea. Well my weight loss was so slow that I was scared into exercising, I wanted to make sure I had done everything right.

This was a one shot deal for me because I was not going to put my family through this surgery more than once (too much stress). So I have worked hard, because I have been given this wonderful opportunity, to lose enough so that I could exercise, I could not do anything at 325 lbs.

Hi Femmemode, May I ask if you dont mind who did your surgery? I live in NYC as well and I was just curious. You look fabulous.I am waiting a date providing my insurance stops giving me the run/around.

Unfortunately I didn't have my surgery in NYC - I had mine in TX...and then transferred here 3 mos. post op. The surgeon that is my follow up doc - that I'm seeing now is Dr. Piotr Gorecki, MD.

He's been wonderful and thourough for followup...but ya know what??
LisaMarie had her surgery here and I know she LOVES him...you should PM her....
