The individual how tos for avatars, posting images in your posts, and tickers are in the Tech Q forum. The same things in a more abbriviated form are also in the FAQ that can be linked from FAQ in the navigation bar above, next to UserCP on the left end. If you need to re-size your pics for any reason, you will need a photo editing software, either in your PC, or online. Also, online photo albums as mentioned in the how to for posting images and pictures can reduce file sizes if there is a need to.
