Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HI!!! Welcome!!!!! expectations hmmm. well each surgeons requirements are different I would assume. But after you go thru all of your pre-op testing, expect to be a nervous wreck post op everyone heals differently. you could be very tired. you could have lots of energy. you could be in pain or not. it all depends on how you handle things. WOW! It's definitely an exciting time. Good luck on your journey!!

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Wow, your date is getting close.
The "Last Supper Syndrome" is a common pitfall, so beware. If you gain weight immediately before surgery, it's going to make it tougher for your surgeon to operate on you, and your recovery can be affected as well. Try to lose even if it's a lb or two, each lb lost pre-op will make your surgery easier. Many surgeons actually require their patients to do one thing or another, like liquid diets for 2 weeks pre op, lose 10% of your weight pre-op, etc, just so their patient get into that syndrome.

For what it's like immediately post op, read the posts the past week or so by armywife2ariel, beckamarie, ladyhawk, goofchick, BOOTS, celadon, and Diane66. Right off the top of my head, these people had their surgery in the few weeks.

Speaking long term, eventually, you will be able to eat pretty much everyhthing so long as it agrees with your pouch, so there's no food that you won't be able to eat. Just in much smaller amounts, so it's healthier for you. No need to go into the LSS, actually.

((((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

Hi and Welcome!!!! This whole journey is interesting to say the least. Sooo many things that you would never think about are affected. But the good thing is that we have this place to come vent, ask questions, and support each other. You will really enjoy this board. It has been a VERY important thing to have. Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

Dear Irish Princess,

Welcome and good luck to you! Congratulations on your surgery being so close! I'm 7 weeks out today and each day has been better than the one before. The board here is so wonderful and I have traded my eating addiction for the support that exists here within this wonderful community. The people here are so wonderful and helpful.

As for the last supper syndrome, I agree with everyone else. Don't do it. Someone said to me prior to my surgery that I'll have a lifetime to eat. If you can, try to eat with some of the new habits you'll need post surgically: not drinking with meals, avoid carbonation & caffeine, cut your food into tiny bites and really chew thoroughly, sip water (or crystal lite) all day long trying to get in 64 oz. and stop drinking before/after 30 meals.

Call on us for support and questions! Good luck!

Amy

Anytime you want help it's here for the asking.
