Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hello there! These are some pictures before and during the surgery process. I was 218 pounds when i had the surgery ,it was very difficult for me to decide to have the surgery there was a lot of people that always told me that i was not super fat etc..etc..., but at only 28 and high blood pressure , and sleep apnea and on the verge of becoming a diabetic i took the plunge ...It was very difficult for the first month, there was some complications that i did not anticipate..but with a lot of prayers and help from my doctor family and friends...I'm finally starting to enjoy being 50 pound less and countingI have been reading a lot if good information...Thanks for this site. this way i can continue to learn more and more avery day.. I will keep posting more pictures .. ![]()

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | You are like my WLS twin. I had surgery a few weeks after you. I'm 27 years old. Came to decide it the same way you did..the family was pressuring me the other way, esp Dad, saying I wasn't "horribly obese enough." I too, was diagnosed with "pre-diabetes" and high blood pressure, and PCOS and I was miserable so I pushed ahead at full force with my surgery plans. After all, I hadn't come to this decision easily. On the actual surgery date I had lost 23 pounds on the pre-surgery diet (plus after the wonderful bowel prep process) so I weighed in at 217. In the first month, I also had complications and scares that I had not anticipated. I had to be in the hospital for 5 days compared to most people's two. Two weeks later, I landed back in the hospital with high heartrate and dehydration and went thru three days of more testing. Turns out I bled more than most and there was alot of leftover blood still reabsorbing in my body and causing alot of irritation around my pouch. My recovery has been slow, my food buildup has been slow (just went to softs like 10 days ago--was on liquid for over a month), and nothing has been easy on me. I get anxious sometimes, feeling like I am stuck having to focus on the same thing all day long, day in and day out. But I am happy to report, like you, having lost a total of 54 pounds since the start of this journey. Wishing you all the best and congrats on your success! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Welcome! In my opinion, the complications (scary and difficult!) are worth being able to live. I had a few myself, ulcers, errosions and a twisted bowel.... But finally, I feel alive, and look foward to each day.
