A place for me to log my thoughts and feelings about my WLS journey.
Neglectful to my Blog

Boy, I didn't realize how I have been skipping writing in my blog. I am just about at 3 months and have lost 54 lbs since the surgery and 77 overall.

I am one happy camper here. I am still working on getting to exercise every day. With my job, I have to work long hours during FDA audits and they have been here for about 6 weeks now. Hopefully this will end soon. Then I can get back to going everyday. I found a real nice gym where I feel comfortable going in and working out. I have been making it about 3 times a week lately but need to do more.
I can finally routinely walk 1 mile. This is a huge milestone for me because if I could walk 0.1 miles before, I was doing good. Now I need to work on strength training.
I don't like to cook much but have found a restaurant where one of the owners had a RNY 5 years ago. I talked with him and the chef and he agreed to cook off menu for me and serve me half-sized portions at half cost. So I go there almost 3-4 times a week. My favorite dish is broiled talapia with a spicy pomodoro sauce and a veggie side. On other nights, I do a protein shake to make sure I get all my protein in. Breakfast is almost always a shake. I am getting pretty good at whipping up a tasty concoction and have a good variety of different proteins on hand.
My favorite website besides this one is www.vitalady.com. She sells protein samples, so you can try different ones. Its a good way to try them out. I found I can't stand the Nectar proteins but love the BSN ones.
My next favorite website is www.bariatriceating.com They have some good ideas for using protein.
Still have no desire for sweets, and that is fine by me. I finally had my first slight dumping episode. I had a coffee mocha, which I have had post op with no problem. Well not yesterday. I was at work and could not leave because of the audit. Boy did I run to the restroom a lot for a couple of hours.
I finally am thinking I am looking thinner. People kept saying things and boy my family was surprised at Thanksgiving. That dinner was a challenge but my mom (bless her heart) made me meatballs. I still can't seem to eat meat that is not ground up.
Well enough for now, I need to get back to work.
