Isnt Winter Wonderful?

Well, now we have the holidays behind us and have gotten back in the groove of working, etc. I am doing fine, I suppose, in the weight loss area - I have really slowed down weightloss wise. It is much more of a challenge now, than previously. I think this is where it's become important to be following the rules, doing the right things, exercising. I really regret not being able to join a gym but money is just too tight. I think I would be having much better results if I did - primarily because I'd have better equipment to work with and I'd have expert help instead of my "hmmm, let's try this" approach. I also am having issues with my knees, so I have stopped jogging daily and switched over to some walking, some jogging so it will have less impact. I know that exercise-wise that should be fine, but I have a real challenge getting my heartrate into the max fat-burning zone, so I know I am not getting the best benefit for my time. I do still enjoy walking/jogging though. It's funny the people that want to walk with you, but then they see the level of day to day exercise and sort of disappear. What's up with that? Actually, that's just like I was pre-op. I wanted to lose weight, but not have to work for it!! I last measured on Jan 12th and was at 184# and had lost 54.25". This would be right at my 6 month mark. No bad.
I think what is driving me batty at the moment is the bouncing I'm doing. I've gone up and down the same 2 or 3 pounds for three weeks. I know part of the problem is that I am bored at work, so I tend to eat more there. I am being very careful to measure out my foods and to take only healthy choices so while I may have increased my intake a bit, at least it's still good food, and I am at a healthy calorie intake per day and getting my protein and vitamins. I've read enough on here to know that if I just hang in there, the scale will move again. Its hard to wait to weigh yourself, I usually ck it 3-4 times a week, this is an improvement for me as I used to weigh 2x a day sometimes early out. I set goals to only weigh 1-2 x wk but I dont think Im ready for that. plus, if I know Im in a stall, at least I know it's that. If I worked this hard for a week or two and saw little to no improvement it'd be very hard for me to continue to stay motivated.
Oh, speaking of motivation, my DD was up to a size 13 jeans and has lost down to a 9, 11 size, so she was getting rid of the jeans. I decided to keep them to see if they would fit me someday. I dont really think I'd wear them - teeny bopper styles - it's just the idea of being able to wear them.....
So, this week, just for funsies I decided to try them on. Well, they went on my body but nowhere near zipping, etc. Still from a 24-26 to getting them on was a heck of a motivator. Someday, I'm gonna come out of my bedroom with them on, and fitting nicely, and see how long it takes her to realize what I'm wearing.
I am curious about how my weightloss may affect DD as she has a battle with weight too. I am always worried about making sure she is doing well psych wise. I have always been aware of eating disorders so I want to make sure she, especially, keeps healthy in the way she thinks about food, body image, etc. I think I'll do a thread and see what others may have experienced.......
See ya later!

| | Isn't life wonderful?! As for you DD, the best thing is to show her by your actions, do well for your own sake, and your daughter will learn through your deeds what is most important. No need to be pencil thin, but a healthy range of weight is important. I'm sure she'll do well by watching and learnin from her mother. ((((HUGS)))) |
