Just the boost I needed

Well here it is 2 months out of surgery and I'm starting to try and get used to the fact that my boyfriend of 3 years seems to have broken up with me (ie Venting for the long version) and I need to move on. I miss him still so much but I can honestly say that I'm not turning to food like I would have before so in that sense I feel really good about my self.
So riding in the car with my girlfriend the other day we were talking about a friend she and I had in common, named Buddy from a yahoo chat room over 5-6 years ago. He and I talked daily for a couple of years always fun... he's a huge flirt and he always made me smile and blush. About 3 years ago his wife passed away (she had been sick for a while) and he needed to sell the house and pack it all up. So I wasn't working at the time so I offered to help him pack everything up and get the house ready to list, clearing out closets and packing up china and such. I stayed for a week and we had a great time. He moved into a new apartment with his father (whose health was also failing). He lost his father 6 months later. Again I went to visit to help him pack everything to move closer to his sister who had moved from New Jersey to North Carolina. His own health wasn't to great and she was concerned for him. So he packed up and moved and I lost touch with him for a while, but I thought about him as we were riding (seeing signs to New Jersey) and we both wondered how he was doing.
So this morning I logged into yahoo messenger and lo and behold there was an offline message from Buddy left 2 hours earlier. I sent a reply and he was still there... so we exchanged numbers and talked for about 30 minutes on the phone. He told me he had been in the hospital for his weight and blood pressure and was now a member of a wellness center and swimming daily and lost 70 pounds. I told him about my surgery and how I was working to get my weight off. Well he's already told me that he's going to come to Delaware and pick me up to take me home with him for a visit. He said he never forgot how much help I was to him and how much fun we had. He had me laughing and blushing as we talked on the phone (still have the grin on my face)
I still miss my boyfriend, but having someone make me feel so good is the best medicine I could think of.
