Stress did it...

Posted 01-20-2010 at 09:32 AM by Lovie

I was eating dinner last night with my Daughter and husband which went along very well. However, we started to talk about her father and his current divorce. I am sitting there listening to things that I would like to snidley comment on but I kept my mouth shut. Which is a miracle unto itself! When all the sudden it hit, I excused myself and went down stairs and , my whole dinner. I have not done this in the 2 1/2 years since my surgery. I didn't think I could . Did not feel well for a little while after. I had only eaten 1/2 chicken breast and some salad. So not sure what that is about. I will bring it up with my surgeon. The only thing I wanted after that was popcorn, so I had some and that stayed down. Not sure if this was stress induced from actually keeping my mouth shut... hmm...
I hopped on the scale today and now I am down 2.5 pounds. I think my scale has gone phsyco. Smooches... L

I find the further I get out emotional situations don't help with food staying down. Plus I tend to, out of nervousness, to eat that one bite too much that causes it all to come right back up.

Well I think you hit the nail on the head. I think it was the stress. It didn't happen before, nor has it happened since. Thanks for the input!

With the bands, sleeves and any other similar restrictive "equipment" stress is a major factor. Our bodies seem to stretch or expand when stressed and I bet your body reacted in the only way it knew how, by throwing up. I hope you are feeling better and continue to work on not internalizing stress. You'd be a magician if you could find that miracle cure though! Good luck!
