Getting closer

Well, here I am, 5 days away from my surgery date.
On one hand I am so excited. On the other hand, the nerves have set in.
I originally was on this kick to have the condo looking spotless. I have given up on that mission. My arthritis is kicking in really badly right now and I can barely move. My hands look horrible right now and feel just as bad. I have decided that as long as the trash is taken out and the clothes are clean and put away then the rest will wait. I need these next few days to relax.
I have a friend who is going to watch my daughter while I am in the hospital and then I am going to stay with her for a few days when I first get home.
I feel like in some ways the next few days are the prelude to the first day of the rest of my life. Don't know if that will make sense to anyone but myself.
Now that it is finally here, I am so ready.
People at work are slowly learning what is going on and they have been SO supportive. They have all offered to help while I am out and they are even stocking the office with things that I am going to need when I first get back.
I have decided to join the YMCA that is right next door. Will be doing that at the end of the month with my next check. They have an indoor track and treadmills that I can use to start. They also have an indoor pool and offer classes in the pool. Plus they have a lot of things that my daughter will be able to do as well.
I feel like the stars are aligning properly for me.
Here is to a new beginning!
