Can I Make it Six More Days???

Ok - now that the optimism that this 2 week pre-op diet "wouldn't be so hard" has faded, I am truly in a broth/jello hell. My doc wasn't kidding when he said by the time I am through with all of this, I will almost never want it again. The jello is not so bad, but I am tired of broth. Really. I may never even cook with it again it has become so bad. LOL Okay, maybe that is a bit extreme.
The scary thing is that I haven't had a "freak-out" in regards to everything. Though I almost talked myself out fo the surgery this morning when I went to get some milk for my protein shake. They had fresh donuts rolling in and coffee going and I almost broke right then and there. But then I thought to myself "how crazy can you be?!?" I got the heck out of dodge WITHOUT my milk and went somewhere else where I knew I wouldn't have to pass either temptations to get it.
Great thing about this pre-op is that I shook the 7 pounds that I put on between the required diet and the pre-op one (Had to say good-bye to a couple of "friends" that served me well over the years) I feel better and better each day, which is what keeps me going on it. It is definitely not my love of broth LOL I have even lost a couple of extra pounds
Work is falling into place for my leave (can't completely feel comfortable - history has dictated that my stuff falls apart if I am gone for more than a day or two - whether or not someone is covering) and DH is ready for the roller coaster ride that should be beginning any day now (LOL) and for the care I will need afterward. I am really lucky to have him. He is even going with me to the final consultation Friday with my surgeon so that he can meet him before I go in, and even suffered through my nutritional class that was three hours long. He is my biggest "conscience" that I have. I was a little extra hungry Saturday (rightfully so, I raked 22 bags of leaves!!!) so I ate two protein meals and only one shake which is "against the rules". Not with that much activity. I don't feel that I cheated. I met the demands of my body after so much work. I ate a solid breakfast of 2 eggs with tomato, onion, and green pepper mixed in, and then had a lean chicken breast with a veggie salad for dinner. I could have done worse for a "cheat" LOL
Well, guess I better get back to the day job and get more completed so that I can relax a little while I am out.
