The Journey Begins...

Hey everyone,
So, i have only just began looking into and researching weight loss surgery. I never thought I would need it, because i am very active and have tired a dozen different diets. But, now i think it is time!
I have recently gone to the seminar in my area, and i originally thought i would have the lap band surgery. Now, however, i am more confused then EVER! I don't know which procedure would best fit me. So, I'm hoping by the end of this month i will have it all sorted out.
Since joining this site--2 days ago-- i have gotten a lot of positive feedback. I hope it will help me in making the final decision.
Currently, I am a 22 year old student at NYU. My weight is 246 and i am 5'5.
Anyone else who has information please tell me!
Cheers.

I am sixty three and over a year and a half ago I was in your position. Make sure you go to the self help group. that is where I made the decision to switch from doing the labband to the laproscopic bypass. They did a group thing where we had to list the pros and cons of both, and after hearing the results, I decided the bypass was the one for me one month before surgery. I just had my surgery on June 2nd. After I also heard about the man that ate a potato skin and it blocked his band. He ended up in the ER with a total blockage. Gross! I just decided to go into blogs for the first time,,I really do not know my way about this web site that well or what I am doing. but look for me , never know where you will find me. Good Luck with whatever decision you make...Posted 06-08-2009 at 06:34 PM by Crazyatsixtythree
