Lightbulb Stock up now - Avoid the rush!!

I've been prowling Craigslist, just looking around to see if anything strikes my fancy and fits my wallet. The other day I saw a new Tommy Hilfiger down winter coat. I thought it might fit, so I made contact and checked it out. It was just a bit snugger on me than I like, but I figured it would fit Peanut, so I gave the lady $10- and took it home.

Peanut tried it, she liked it, she now has a good winter coat. Those she was wearing last winter are way too big to even consider wearing this year.

If you keep your eyes open, there are good deals on seasonal clothing popping up on eBay, Craigslist and a bunch of other places.

Last year I bought a really nice long cashmere trench coat for $30- on eBay, and you couldn't tell it had ever been tried on, much less used. For those of you who are far enough out that last year's stuff won't fit, this is the time to find what you need for what you want to pay!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Doesn't have to be just clothing either for the big deals.

You will appreciate this one: My son is a car fanatic. He put in night vision in his 1996 BMW, has 2 computers in it and a ton more gdgets. He can rip the engine apart and put it back together and make it better than before. He loves cars.

What else does a car lover love? Tools. On eBay last week he bought a plasma cutter for $200 (taxes & shipping in) that would have cost him around $3,000 here for the same one.

He said he cried like a baby with a new rattle when he got it and started trying it out on things lying around the garage. One large piece of metal took him 2 minutes to cut through it like a bread knife does to butter compared to 45 minutes and 5 blades with his angle grinder.

So the deals are out there for certain and whether it they are clothes slightly used or never worn at all and still with the tags on, these online trading places are not bad to get some deals if you have the cash.

Happy Shopping!

I have gotten some really good deals on ebay. I prefer ebay over craigslist because of paypal protection. The first time I bought from craigs list I bought a cell phone and ended up turning it in to the police as it had been reported stolen. On ebay, if that happens and the seller won't make good you still have paypal protection.

I LOVE Ebay, either buying or selling. I outwardly LAUGH at phone reps trying to sell me accessories for my cell phones. I routinely get any "toy" for my electronics for 1/5 the price, free shipping.

Watching the Emmys last night, (yay Jim Parsons), I saw an ad for a trench coat at a store we don't have at our local mall. My daughter immediately said, "We can drive to Glendale or Ontario to get your coat!" I guess that store is in Glendale or Ontario.

"No, thanks...I have Ebay and now that I am in the mood for a trench, I want a lined London Fog, and I can't afford that in a store."

"You and your stupid Ebay". lol :-P

Kind of...paypal will give you the $$ that you paid ONLY if it's in their Paypal account. If not they apologise, tell you that you're right, and that they'll keep this member's account "watched" and if they see money in there, they'll refund...if not, "Sorry Chuck outta luck." If the merchandise you bought was stolen, you can bet your bitty booty that there will never be funds in that paypal account again...for just that reason.

But with that said, I still have to admit I like E-Bay better than craigslist. I was after all, as my fiance at the time - now husband, joked "the ebay bride"...did most of our wedding by Ebay, it was dead cheap and looked fantastic...in saying that though, for us the most important part of our wedding wasn't the dress, the suits, the flowers, or even the rings...for us it was about becoming man and wife, as well as enjoying the company of those who chose to celebrate with us

But thanks Perfesser for the heads up...time to start looking, I guess

You obviously have more experience than I do, I have only had 1 bad experience with ebay and when the seller wouldn't make things right I complained directly to ebay (it was bootleg software sold as New Microsoft software) and posted negative feedback (seller had 100% positive prior to my feedback). Anyway, within hours the feedback scores dropped and within 2 days the seller was removed from ebay and lo and behold I found a check (which didn't bounce) in the mail so I didn't have to go through paypal.

Generally I have had very good luck with ebay, but only used craigslist twice the first time being the stolen phone.

eBay covers a much larger area than Craigslist. I have bought stuff from New Hampshire and Ontario to San Diego from eBay, but Craigslist just covers one geographic region at a time. For larger items that would cost a lot to ship or free stuff, local pickup is nice. I use PayPal on eBay for everything because of the convenience and security.

I did once, though, find a car on eBay that I wanted, and it was 50 miles from where I lived. I've picked up a couple of motorcycles that way too. The last bike I bought was on Craigslist, 65 miles east of us. You just have to shop around. There are deals to be had if you take your time and know them when you see them. Just like not everything at an outlet store is a great deal, not everything online is either.
