Thumbs up Looking for a Med Alert Bracelet?

I was looking for a Mother's Day gift today online, and came across this site that has some really nice Med Alert pendants, bracelets, neclaces etc... I know when I was early out, I was searching for them, and couldn't find nice ones at an affordable price.
So, I thought I would share the site with everyone.
The address is: Medical ID
Hope you all enjoy!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thank you for the link. I noticed on some website that they had Med ID bracelets for Gastric Bypass Patients. I think its a good idea to wear one considering they need to know. I have noticed more men will wear one than any woman I have seen. I guess we need to change that. Thank you Phyllis for this link. I will be sure to use it when Im ready to have one. Take care...

thanks for shareing the link PHYLIS!
I know early out i bought a fancy one that i
paid little more for but broke and lost it
within a week.
I then ordered a pre-engraved 9,95 braclet
on ebay and been wearing it fine since.
I think its a personal decision yet a very important
one and im glad you put this thread up to let the new
surgery patients think about this need.

Default Yes! thanks for the reminder: med alert jewelry

hey this is a good reminder to me...after seeing "me guts" on the small bowel series..wowsers they do NOT look normal and if I got an injury..boggles the mind..

plus I'm very allergic to latex so ..hey good thing you posted this..we do all need the reminder to wear these.

EMT's are taught to look at the neck first then wrist for med alert which I've always argued that most will wear them at the wrist especially women!

Oh, yes, this comes up ever so often. Something both functional and pretty is a must for women, I'd say, plus, maybe in several designs to complement whatever you're wearing--I mean, a nice and pretty thing would look great with a fancy outfit, and a plain no-nonsense one when your dressed for sports and fun. So long as you wear it, wear it with class, I'd say.
Well, I don't know if you'll like it or not, but our online eStore also has a selection, for those who are curious.

I know this may sound stupid but I never thought to wear a bracelet
to let people know that I had surgery. Can I sound stupid and ask why
this would be so important?? is it becasue if they had to administer
meds??

For one thing, when you are unable to answer any questions about your state of health, and you need an NG tube, it's going to be dangerous for your pouch to have the drs go in with an NG tube blind. You need to be scoped when getting the tube in, so as not to harm your pouch. EMTs and ER staff need to know any deviation from normalcy, so if you have had ANY major surgery, it's best to have something on your person that states so. That will give the people treating you a head start on what to be careful about you, for you.

Doc is right. If you look up the ID bracelets they state on the bracelet No ENG without Light. Im sure that is the last thing we will want is a stomach puncture after the healing we will go through.

I know that this thread is an old one but I had to see the endocrinologist for a thyroid problem and they had a card in there that sells Sterling Silver, 14kt Gold-Filled and Swarovksi Crystal ID bracelets with lots of cute and fashionable styles. They are interchangeable so you can change your tag to differents styles.
Good luck
Wendy

I am glad you added to this thread I would never have thought about getting an alert bracelet - I am not much of a bracelet person but guess I better think about it
