Folks, I've been fighting with my washer since the day I went for my surgery (June 14). It died like a few hours before I went to the hospital. Four months old, Fisher and Paykel (supposed to be a good energy and water efficient model) Spent a good bit for a top loader because I wanted it to last

.... Anywho. Since I was laid up for a week and hubby being hubby, it didn't get called on until the 20th. The first two years on my washer were covered by the company (Fisher and Paykel - UK company) , the next four are covered by Lowes. All six years use the same repair company A&E Appliance Repair. Two weeks before they can come out to look at the washer!!!! ACK!
So, three trips to the laundromat later (not a good thing, not a good thing at all)....
The guy comes to the house, diagnoses the problem, and it needs parts. He'll order them and be back in ANOTHER 2 WEEKS!!!!!! By this time I am furious. Not at the guy, he's just the service guy. At the company providing the "service". The store that sold it to me can give me a loaner, provided that I keep my machine at the house. ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I don't have room for another washer. (We are packed tight since I have a side business.) Except on the back porch. Which would be a bad thing, since it's not closed in.
Two more massive laundry.
So, July 16 they call to confirm the appointment and ask about the parts. A box had arrived, we looked inside.... only one part of three. They need all three, they'll call back. They don't call back. We call back the next morning and find out the part is on backorder coming from the UK will be in 6-8 days and THEN they'll schedule service when they can. So I jump up and down and call the manufacturer and talk to them again and they promise to talk to the service people. They call back and leave me a message Thursday saying the part will be in Monday, they'll be here to fix Tuesday but to confirm. Called the service people.... Yes the part will be here on Monday, but they won't be HERE until Tuesday the 31st!
Soooooooooooooo....... hopefully, hopefully, hopefully, my washing machine will be fixed on the 31st. I could have bought another one with what I've put out at the laundromat. Certainly if you pair it with the cost of my service plan.
Just wanted to let you all know, in case you didn't know.... There is no provision for loss of use in these service plans (at least LOWES). They can string you along for however long they like until they fix it. The lemon law only comes into play once it's broken three times.
From now on, I'll only buy a service plan on something they'll straight up replace. I don't mean any harm to any of the service people or the phone people, or anyone working for any of these companies involved cause it's not their fault -- it's just the management of the companies.
I just want to tell as many people as I can so they don't make the same mistake and spend 70 - 100 + dollars on a service plan that is worthless. Sorry for the rant, but I was clueless until now.
