Does anyone know how many grams of carbs we are allowed a day... I know there are "good" carbs and "bad carbs" . My nutrionist says to steer clear of carbs and sugar...But EVERYTHING has carbs....i guess I just mean in general....

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.

For me I try and do this...if I eat 60 grams of protein I try not to eat more then 30 grams of carbs...so whatever my protein is I divide by 2 and do that with carbs....its the 2 to 1 ratio that alot of my post op friends use and they have had great success

The RDA-recommended daily amount- is actually 130g. This is because our brain cells run only on glucose.
That said, while you are still in the early days of bypass life, so long as the carbs come with other things--you don't get in carbs as carb food like bread, pasta, etc--you probably won't get too much while you stick to protein first.
No need to bring it up to 130g, either, at least during the stage you are at.

Dang, I freak out about eating a whole bag of protein chips at what 14g a day. My dietician says keep it low the first 6 mos during your quickest weight loss. I can't imagine letting them back in, I was addicted.
