Default Need my Guy

Hi,

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone on here.
I just need to vent a little.....I have been dating a wonderful man for 3 1/2 years and I'm missing him terrible right now. We actually have a long distance relationship (900 miles apart). He was here for 3 weeks in December to be with me for surgery and then it was rescheduled to Jan. He sent me a very nice card with some loving, caring words and it really means to the world to me. I just wish he was here. I really need to see him and hug him.

I had my 3 week post op visit with the dietician today. She said that I am not getting in enough of the protien, meats and fluids. She told me I needed to go home and eat! So I stopped at the store and bought a Boston Market frozen Turkey dinner. It looked good, smelled good and tasted pretty darn good and it had 22 grams of protien. 4 bits in and I was running to the bathroom. First time I've thrown up. First time I've actually eaten. So do I try to eat again or wait? Now what?!?!?

Only good news today is I lost 4 lbs since post op with surgeon last week.

Thanks for listening.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I could not eat solid meat at this point. Maybe you could try eggs, cheese ,cottage cheese ,tuna,For some reason chili is good, refried beans w\ hamb.you still have a healing stomach, so be careful. Just experiment with very small amounts. Sorry you are missing your man . Maybe he'll surprise you with a knock at the door.....

I was in the puree stage at 3 weeks out, maybe you just werent ready for it yet? Are you doing protein shakes? It's tough early out but just keep at it, you'll get there! Go really slow and dont forget to chew 30 (!) times for each bite. Once you do eat meat, slow cook it til it falls apart, the juices help too. I had mine with tiny amounts of mashed potatos and applesauce (sf) of course. Good luck!

Default tv dinner

Those tv dinners are not the healthiest, especially at your stage post op. They're high in salt, and may have seasonings or preservsatives that may cause your current dilemma. Better to cook your own chicken and eat a small portion of that, or get a roasted chicken from your market deli. Those dinners are high in fat too. DAVE

It takes time for your pouch to adjust to real food, you should do soft foods first like Lazell said, and ease your way into different meats. It takes time I still remember when I tried regular foods I still chew the foods to mush before swallowing because I don't like to throw up. Good luck and hang in there. It took me over a month to get in my required amt of protein in without a supplement of protein drinks.

I think chicken is hard to take anyway for the first month or so, so maybe back up a little, get protein from soft things like low fat cheeses, yogurt, protein shakes. Acually, Wendys chilli (everyone keeps talking about refried beans) was pretty good, tasty (I had never had it before) and went down easy, no problem.

I had a very hard time early out with introducing meats, I had to keep trying and trying, chew very well, the meat could not be too dry either. I got most of my protein early out through the protein shakes and yogurt.

I am 4 weeks out and still am not allowed meat like that. I find deli turkey or chicken works well. I also made a turkey meatloaf tonight that sat well. I know how hard it is to get in all the food and liquids.....it's like are you kidding me!?

I couldnt even do tuna for 5 weeks, and couldn't do ground turkey and chicken comfortably until about 7/8 weeks. Still no red meat yet. You need the meats for the protein anyway. If your body is telling you its not time, dont push it. Just get the protein in thru your supplements mostly.
