Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  Home from Surgery Well I am home from surgery! Very long trip home. I had the open gastric bypass. did ok the first day got up and walked as soon as i woke up. second day had breathing difficulties. Was awful not being able to breath! Last day I am feeling better, breathing better, but incision is not looking good so dr pulled some of the stapes out so it could drain better? so now i have a big ole hole in my stomach!  he said to pack it and let it drain. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  OMG! The pain meds have definitely worn off from the hospital! I hurt so bad!  At the hospital I did not need any extra meds and I felt good, sore but good. Now I can hardly move and my fever has come back which dr said it might with this drainage. I am ready to move past this part thank you very much. Lets skip this and get on with the weightloss! I know I am whiney sorry I dont mean to be. I am sipping but I have to burp everytime I sip? Is this normal? And did anybody use crystal light to sip? Have not tried it yet but am tempted! Dietician said I could but use double the water. Any sugesstions on anything at this point?

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I burped when I started sipping and still do pretty often, but I'm fresh post-op. I have had regular crystal light since I was ok'd to drink. I had it in the hospital. Gosh twice the water, that would make it just colorful bitter flavored water. Maybe just a little extra water is good. Yeah, when they took out my PCA, I knew it. It was rough the first few days home, but then I was ok. But you had an open and I hear that the recovery is A LOT more painful. Just keep taking your pain meds to keep yourslef comfortable. Drinking is still hard for me, but they say it's gets better!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Oh Honey I cant imagine having OPEN RNY...Take your pain meds as often as you ar allowed and if the doc ok'd the chrystal lite go for it. I drank it from the get go and it helped break up the blah of the water. Hang in there girl you are doing GREAT |
