Angry So I weighed myself today...

So I weighed myself today, (being good, only weighing myself once a week), and I know you all know what I'm about to rag about...I only lost a flippen 1/2 of a pound! I know, I know, healing and all that...but come on! I'm 5 weeks post-op, what's with all the stalls?!? I had a ten day stall at about 3 weeks out, then lost 6 pounds, and I know that's great, but now again?!? It's sooooooooooo dissapointing! I've been gutted like a deer, I'm eating such small amounts and half of that isn't even absorbed! Yes I'm getting my protein, be it some food and mostly supplements, yes I'm drinking, maybe not 64 oz, but a good 50 plus. So my question is this: does this happen to every one or just some? I mean I read some of the post here, and although you can't tell by some ones stats how and when the weight came off, some here are loosing at an incredible rate, based on surgery date. Do some just loose weight steady and never have stalls? Or does this mean I'm one of the ones who will still struggle with weight loss even after having surgery??? Geez, not that I'm not happy for every one, but there are even some here who blew past their goal weight, is that only some?!? So please, does every one stall, or is it only some, and if it's only some, does that mean that I'm likely to always have to struggle????

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

everybody is different...my surgeon told me I'm WAY ahead of the curve.....you may want to increase your water to 75-100 ounces!

It will come off...TRUST ME (Stop laughing at me Doc)....as LONG as you stick to the plan, IT WILL COME OFF!!

ok let me give it to you straight and dont take offense, i have a bit of a dry sense of humor
10 days is not a stall. try not losing ONE lb for 2 or 3 months be patient. your body needs time to heel. google lap gastric bypass and watch video of what was done to your insides. you will then understand WHY it needs time to adjust.

then suddenly the WOOOOSH will happen. you might even be lucky enough to wonder when the woooosh will stop

PS no weight comes of steadily. it comes off in "humps and bumps" (quote courtesy of doc sanae ) even if you only lose 1/4 of a lb. that is a 1/4 more than you would have lost and kept off pre-op. smile you are on the right track.

stalls can make you feel like you are losing your mind!! like kath said up the water some and see what happens!! i drink about 90 oz of water a day, and have a hard time keeping it that low but have worked on it. sometimes changing things up a bit here and there helps, good luck i know this can be frusatrating@!!

I guess I was one of the people who lost pretty much at a steady rate until a few weeks ago and it was so hard till I got off that stall. I was so upset when I would stand on the scale and it did not move for over 3 weeks. But I was happy for the inches that I lost while on the stall but in my mind I wanted the scale to move. I have to adjust my mind a little. Like the rest of the people on here say you have to give your body time to heal and before you realize it the weight will start to come off. And everyone loses at a different rate.

They are right about losing inches during a stall. I have been stalled for over 2 weeks and have stopped weighing each day and am trying to wait for a week to weight, but I have lost inches and am wearing pants that were to snug 2 weeks ago. So go to your closet and start trying on clothes that you have not been able to wear and then do this every few days to see how the inches are flying off. HONESTLY!!!

My dr told me that some people there body just shuts down the metabolism and hold on to the fat as long as it can. We were talking about why I only lost 20 lbs in the first 5-6 months on the 1st weight loss surgery. She said just to be "patient" and drink your water and eat like she tells me too and IT WILL COME OFF as it has no choice if I am not giving it anything extra to store.
