Default Passed the Hurdles

Passed my last hurdle for surgery this week. After I had gone to get the cardio release, he found a murmer (not unusual) and what he thought was a leakage (also not completely unusual). So he wanted an adenosine stress test (not fun) and an echocardiogram to make sure that the leakage wasn't a blockage.

Well, everything turned out just fine and he called and said that he'd already drafted the release to my pcp and to my surgeon. So, now all I have is the pre-op stuff on the 29th of February and show up at the hospital on the 3rd of March.

I will say that I'm getting a little nervous, not for the actual event of the surgery, but for what's going to happen after the surgery. My sister had the RNY January 2006 and I was hoping that she was going to be of more help to me, but alas, it doesn't look like it's going to happen. She lives in Torrance CA, which is about 85 miles north of San Diego, but when I try to call her and talk to her about what's going on and how I'm feeling, she doesn't have time for me. My mother figures that she's probably jealous. I know that sounds weird, but she's weird that way.

Oh well, sorry for the rambling. I have a feeling as the date draws nearer, it'll get worse.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

This site is always here for you! I like that about this you can ask anything no matter how dumb you think it sounds and someone is always nice and answers you! This is my support system and any questions I have I post here. Good luck with your surgery it is right around the corner.

I am so glad your test results were good ~ that's got to be a great relief. I have to tell you that I knew several people who have had RNY but my greatest supports after surgery came from my best friend, DH and Mom. As far as knowledge and daily support though, this site has been a Godsend ~ without a doubt. It's so encouraging to see people at various stages of the journey and to learn from them. I especially appreciate when someone has made a mistake or learned something the hard way and they post it to help the rest of us. One nite, I had eaten something too sweet and got so sick, Boots was here to talk me thru it and I will be forever grateful for her being there. That's the beauty of the site, there's usually someone on when you need them!!! Wishing you the best with your surgery and recovery!

I appreciate all of the kind words. When I first found this site a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was a God send. There is a wealth of infor and knowledge here and I've already learned quite a lot. Believe you me, as the time ticks by (by the way, it seems like it's going to slow and I have a feeling that it's going to go even slower, lol), I'm going to be checking in several times a day for answers and questions.

Thanks Doc!

Kath you're right. As the day is approaching I'm getting more and more nervous, asking myself questions like, am I doing the right thing?, do I really know what I'm doing?, will I be able to adjust to my new life when I've not been able to adjust the all of the hundreds of times that I tried and failed to diet? I've tried to talk to my hubby and my kids, they're trying to be understanding and trying to give me words of encouragement, but they've never had the yo-yo dieting issues nor do they have the weight issues. Oh well, I know in the end it's going to be okay and things will adjust, I just getting scared.
