Default How Do You Do It???

I have a very important question. I have gotten so much information, between people on here and my doctor's office, but how in the world do you get in enough calories each day?

I vary anywhere between 475 - 650. Sometimes, I think I'm not getting in enough calories for my body to continue losing weight. My weight loss has slowed down and sometimes I think that's why. Any suggestions on how to get in more calories, but with things that aren't bad for you. My doctor told me not to pay any attention to any number except how many grams of protein I get in. I get so confused sometimes.

Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

If your dr said not to pay any attention to numbers other than protein, stick to that.
Try the protein first, veggies next, then carbs if you have some space left rule. That might help you out.
You're not quite 6 months out, but around 6 months out, you will start being able to eat a bit more, so don't worry.

My doctor has just said to eat if I'm hungry. To be honest, I haven't felt hungry one time since surgery. I just know that I have to eat to be able to get some stuff in.

I try not to worry about it, but I know I have read so many places on here that if you aren't getting in enough, your body holds on to everything because it thinks you're starving it. I feel so overwelmed sometimes.

My daughter taught me to watch the proteins first and then the carbs and last of all the fats. My daughter and I are not to concerned about the fats my number one thing is to get my proteins in first and then to watch not to get in to much carbs cause that is where the weight comes from. But we do need some carbs to function. I am a fruit eater where my daughter is not. So I usually only eat one fruit a day. I most of the time have at least one protein shake a day. Now that it is cold here I am into the hotcoco with my protein powder. I even have my husband into the hotcoco protein drink. I love it that my husband is interested in my foods and he eats alot of what I eat becasue he wants to keep his weight under control. He loves my sugar free candy especially the coconut ones. At least when he eats the sugarfree candy it keeps him away from his little debbie treats. They are loaded with fat and carbs. My husband is also a fruit eater and has a few fruits a day. Right now we are into the baked apples with a little of splenda brown sugar and splenda sugar and I put just a few crushed walnuts or crushed pecans. This is soooooo goooood.

Can you eat natural peanut butter - that packs a punch calorie wise (protein too)

I think any of us past the 6 month mark can attest to the fact that the HUNGER DOES RETURN!!! I still can't eat TONS at one sitting, but I'm able to eat more over time....I have been using the quaker mini cakes (90 calories) and the VHT protein SMOOTHIE EXTREMES are loaded in protein....150-160 calories each...I usually use that as a meal replacement. Yogurt (fat free)....is also good...I'm crazy about the yoplait peach!

Watch the fat numbers too...anything you take in that you DON"T burn off in normal routine is stored as fat....while you can't avoid carbs COMPLETELY...limit it to as few a possible....

I think you have done a great job...!!! My surgeon said 1/2 way to goal at 6 months is the normal projection....and if you continue to lose a little over the next few months, you will be at goal in NO TIME!!

Schedule meals and eat- that is what I did to ensure my body was getting fueled even if I didn't "feel" hungry. Avocado packs in calories and is a healthy fat- wrap a piece in a slice of turkey and cheese for a quick yummy lunch with good protein.

Wow, one minute I think I'm just going to make sure I get in 60 g protein a day and not worry about anything else. Then I think what if I'm lying to myself saying that I don't need to worry about carbs or fats? What do I do? What do I do?
