Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | well...i am finally home! i am glad its over, but have to be honest....i am completely miserable! i feel very lightheaded and dizzy sometimes. i am hoping that is just because of the major surgery i just had and not some underlying problem. I do have a question for the group. How long before you start feeling like yourself again? My nurses and docs all gave different answers, but i curious. i feel so much pain in my tummy, its hard to imagine that i can go to the gym in 6 weeks. Also, did anyone go through a "oh my god, what have I done" phase? I did that yesterday. I kept telling myself that I had made a really bad decision, although, I feel better about it today. Thanks everyone for your prayers! I was really scared and this forum helped to calm me down some (not to mention the happy drugs I got before i got wheeled in).

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I had mine 3 weeks ago and I feel great. I'm back at work as a nurse admitting patients for surgery and I get a little tired, but I'm good. I had surgery on a tuesday, went home thursday and felt better by monday. I was in pain thurs + fri and stopped pain meds over the weekend. I went back to work after 2 weeks and they had me do stuff I shouldn't have and felt like cr-p the first 2 days. Since then I've been admitting and I'm fine. It does get better pain wise, but I'm still in the 'what did I do' phase.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | We've all been through it. Pain will vary with patients, depending on your pain threshold. I go to multiple support groups months. Some patients return to work in 1 week, and others take 6 weeks. Follow the doctor's protocol and most patients do just fine. DAVE

Weight Loss Method - | I am happy to hear that you are home. I can not offer any advice because I have not had my surgery yet however I often do think to myself is it really all worth it and then I look at how happy these ladies are and how they got their life back and I say to myself maybe it is......The only thing I can do is give you a big hug ((((HUG))))

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Give yourself time honey -- everyone is different with how they heal -- that's why you get so many different answers. Just let your body lead you where you need to go and follow the eating and drinking rules from your doc. You'll be up and around and on your way in no time! |
