I haven't been on much lately -- work has been really busy and life in general has been hectic. My mother in law moved here from California to live near us on Feb 1st and we've been getting her settled in to her new apartment, buying her furniture, etc... Our house is on the market because we were thinking about buying a new home -- but the market stinks at the present time, so we may not be moving.  Then, my sister passed away on Feb 12th (it was expected she had been sick for a very long time); so I flew out to California to be with my Mom who was not taking it well. My sister lived in San Francisco, my Mom's in southern California and she is too old and frail to travel for the funeral. I was going to fly from south to north for the funeral but then they didn't schedule it until five days later and I couldn't stay out of work that long so I couldn't attend her funeral. I'm still feeling pains of guilt, especially not being there for my niece and nephew -- but my sister and I have had a strained relationship for a very long time. We made amends last year when she was still not fully disabled from her illness -- so it is good that I can remember her that way. I have faith in God and know that she is in heaven now and feeling no more pain or suffering. Then my second grandson was born on Feb 18th;  the week after the funeral but I wasn't planning on being there anyway because her mother (the other grandma) was going to be there with them and that would have been crowded and the kids need time to bond with their new little son (His name is Blake and he was 8 lbs and 3 oz and I've only seen him on the web cam -- my son hasn't sent pics yet!) Anyway, I won't be able to get down there to see him until Easter! For the next two weeks I'm traveling a lot on business. I do get to go to London for a week -- and I've tucked in some tourist time -- but I've also been before, so its not as exciting -- but still fun.  I will just be glad when February is over -- March has got to be slower and then there's April and Charleston to look forward to! |

I am so very sorry for everything with you lately. When it rains, it pours it seems. Congratulations though, on the baby. They are always such a beautiful blessing from God. I also have months like that..........August and November. If I could strike them from the Calendar, I surely would. I don't get in here much either these days. I really should because I need some encouragement every now and again. Doing fine though, and I am sure you are to with the weight. You just hang in there kiddo. Things have to improve. Nice to hear from ya though. mike
