Default Home from Surgery

Hi Everyone,
I'm home from surgery and doing great. I had my surgery Thursday and left the hosptial Saturday at noon. I was up and around Friday night and have been sipping my water, diluted juice and broth.

I don't have any pain, my pouch gets upset once in a while, especially after drinking the protein shakes...they do not sit well with the pouch. I don't think I'm doing well on getting enough calories or protein. My dr. said try to get 20grams the first few days...hmmm. So, I'm off to the health food store to find some protein that is mort concentrated, so I don't have to drink so much to get in the minimum.

I'm walking around, sleeping comfortably at night and generally feel normal. I am hungry..head hungry. My pouch is not hungry, but food sounds sooo good. I've been on liquids way to long, I just want to put some texture in my mouth!! Next week I get pureed foods, I am so excited!

I'm a little shaky and get a little light headed every once in a while, I think I just need to "eat" more.

Burping hurts... I dread it. I'm passing the gas but still nothing else...but what could possibly be in there????? LOL. I started taking powdered fiber today to see if that will help.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Wow Tami,
sounds like you are moving along pretty well. But yes, a little more protein, and also, really, more liquid, especially if you are light headed.
Try unjury on the web, their chicken broth isn't terrible, especially since you are in the clear liquid/full liquid stage. Good luck and welcome home!!

Welcome home and glad to hear that all went well. If you find a protein that you can tolerate, can you let me know? I've got a week, this time next week, I'll be on that loser's bench.
