| First Question Of Many: How in the world have any of you started to exercise? ![]() This has been my downfall my whole life. I have some projects around the house that I have been working on, but trying to exercise is very hard for me. I am supposed to have started knee strength exercises and have an appointment to see the physical therapist on Monday. Guess who is not ready? I am just starting this and already I see a dark tunnel ahead of me. Guess I need to kick myself in the rear and get moving. It is just I am so wore out by the time I get home at night, there is nothing left. ![]() I have high hopes of walking at work on my lunch break, but I always come up with an excuses; I should feel better tomorrow. I sound like a broken record some days. I hope someone knows what a record is. ![]() Ed.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hello! I have found the same thing, I dont often exercise at night (or arvy) because of feeling so knackered, so I do it first thing in the morning. I hired a treadmill and even 10mins to start is better than nothing, then during the day, try walking that bit extra e.g. I no longer cut corners, I walk around the corner, it is only maybe an extra 20 steps, but it is an extra 20 steps, you know what I mean? You obviously need to be careful of your knees (?) so take it easy, but steady. Best of luck! *hugs* |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | hi Ed! exercize!! wow that was such a dreaded word to me for so many years. now i dont think i could live without it and do not think i would have had the success i have had so far without it. after i get my kids on the bus it is my routine to head to town to the gym, it kick starts my day, you would be surprised the energy it gives you!! i have never really been an inactive person but i never really exercized, now i work out about an hour every day and can even RUN on the treadmill. start small and work yourself up, you will feel good and so proud of your accomplishments!! good luck!!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Man, I miss listening to all my old records, albums and 45's. In my high school you were either a rocker, or a disco duck...I"m a duck! When disco was still good...I even went to studio 54 a few times, when it was almost at it's end though, but I thought I was cool!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Ya, excercise is my downfall- and since surgery i have even less energy. I keep thinking....20 more pounds then I will start! WRONG! I am doing baby steps- started walking with family....need to do arm weights as Dr. says gotta build muscle since I am losing it. Once I get that going I am sure I will add more. I just say ONE STEP AT A TIME! Then I feel a little better.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | You sound a "continous looped tape". You have to exercise. Just walking is fine. Start out short distances, repeat for a few days. Increase distance and repeat. Simple walking is better than excuses.
