Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Okay, so today must have been the worst day because I over ate at both lunch and really over did it at dinner. All I can think of was that I may be struggling with some changes that are going to occur at work; otherwise, I just cannot even begin to explain my eating today. I feel stuffed both interanally and externally. Now, I feel emotional about how I over did it. I keep telling my self that there is no rational way that I could have reversed everything that I have undergone in the last 5 months, but I still have yet to accept this line of rational thought. Can anyone relate? |

| Super Moderator | I think I've seen just about everyone post getting upset about how much they can eat, and how they might have *ruined* it all with just one day. Relax, you're still adjusting to this new life, and it can play a head game on all counts. I'm sure you know rationally that there's no way you could, and did, eat like you did pre op, so just a day or two off track is fine, and as total calorie intake, I'm willing to bet it's still only around 1000 kcals or not much more than that. ((((((HUGS))))) You'll do fine. P.S. I take it the job interview was a success.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Also, correct me if I am wrong here, but doesn't anyone else feel that while, yes. we did have this surgery to loose weight, get our health back, and yes, we have to work at it...isn't part of having this 'tool' so that throughout the rest of our life we can have special days where we have a piece of that wedding cake, have some popcorn at the movie, have a hambergurger at that pic-nic. I'm not saying pig out, or have things all the time...but isn't that one big part of the 'tool', being able to have 'some' and feel full, feel satisfied. Feel like the rest of the world. Now that we have this 'tool' are we still supposed to play the mind games and second quess ourselves when we have a little something on a special occasion, are we still supposed to feel guilty if we have a bad day and eat a little more? I say no. I say I had this done as a way to be more in control. I don't want to spend the rest of my life still feeling like the biggist looser if I have something special on a special occasion. I've done that my whole life, felt bad. I want to use this tool to feel in control, happy with myself, happy with my choices. Like Doc said, even if you did eat a little too much, you no where in hell ate enough to do any serious damage, not in one day, no how, no way. On a bad day before surgery I may have eaten an entire bag of baby sized snickers...on a bad day after surgery...not even close! So don't beat yourself up. I think if we allow ourselves to feel bad, then we'll feel like WTH and just like before, spiral out of control. You are doing fabulous! Look how far you've come. You are human, this surgery is a 'tool'...work it girl! Every day when you wake up, it's a new day, a better day!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | i agree. you're fine. one day wont ruin it. the fact that you recognize that you over ate is proof that it still works! that FULL feeling is something we (i) never felt before. i could eat FOREVER and never be full. now, forget it. i say dust yourself off and start a new. and for now think about what distracted you. the first step is identifying it. we'll figure out what to do about it later |
