| You will be so happy losing some of your weight before your surgery...way to go. You sound like me though, when I used to go to weight watchers. There were alot of weeks i would skip because of the fear of gaining. No fun at all and most times I ended up not going back at all. Oh those were the days!!!!! Yeaaaaaahhh for you. ROBBN

| Big Loser | Good for you! That fear of the scale and, for that matter, fear of the doc's dissaproving look, is a real mind twister. I'm proud of you, know you must feel relieved and must admit I am envious. You know, that habit of projecting future scenarios is something I'm really trying to work on. How many times do we live in fear about something we think is going to happen, run countless scenarios through our heads, only to have it not come to pass? What a waste of time, attitude and just plain life! I have to have absolute faith that if I do my part, the rest will follow. That doesn't mean I have to do it perfectly, just to the best of my ability, honestly. I, too, still get those feelings that I have somehow cheated and am failing, like now. I was comfortable for years and thought I had this whipped, but when that scale hit 171, I was thrown right back into that old nasty place. And for what? I'm still in normal range and I'm taking action. There's nothing else I can or should do. So I need to remeber to squash that negative self-talk, replace it with talking to myself the way I would like others to talk to me, and relax. Decades of dieting and failing are hard to erase in just a few years, but I won't stop trying. It gets better all of the time. And I've had a taste of what it's like to be comfortable in my own skin and I have every intention of living in that space. Vicki |
