Default For the Doc and the Legends

Ok ladies and gents......

I have become addicted to running. Yes, ADDICTED! To the point that my doc that I work for caught me jogging in place in my contact lens lab the other day because I was just jonesing for a jog (it was like 65 outside). He has also caught me doing lunges and arm curls using bottles of saline solution. Ok...now that I have admitted my addiction transfer.

My issue is.....since Im working out like 6 days a week (Sundays off).....I would think that my calorie intake and even my carb intake would need to be slightly higher, correct?
Dont ask me how many calories or carbs Im supposed to be eating at 4 months post op because my surgeon has never told me. He just tells me in his Middle Eastern accent, "No soda and dont eat too much bread!"
Is there a way to calculate how many calories and carbs I should be taking in? My husband is a marathon runner and eats carbs out the wazoo when he is training (like he is now for the Army 10 miler) and I know I cant do that many. But he suggested one slice of whole grain bread (found some that is low carb that I can tolerate and is tasty) with a teaspoon of peanut butter (I found this organic PB that has only 5 carbs and is super good) an hour before I run, then small portion of protein after I run to help the muscles repair. I can tolerate bread in small amounts and even thought of putting the PB on a low carb tortilla since it doesnt seem as bulky as bread.
I have an appointment with the nutritionist tomorrow, but I really am not all that impressed with her. She told me to stop eating cheese as a protein source...while my doc says to eat cheese if its a source that I can tolerate at this point. Just some of the other things she has suggested like mashed potatoes at 1 week post op makes me kind of cringe. But she is the only nutritionist we have at the clinic I go to.
So input, suggestions, or just telling me to hush because I type too much would be appreciated.
Sharon

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You're doing very well with exercise.

At this point, I don't think you really have to take into consideration about how many cals for exercise, because you still have some extra to lose.

you do get to goal, is another story.
For maintenance, calculate about 25-30 kcals per 2lbs for a regular day, and add to that 5 per 2lbs when you run 5 miles and up.

Your DH's way of adding calories sound fine to me, my guess is he got the menu from a trainer. If you don't feel comfortable about your nut, one way is to find a good trainer who is knowledgeable about nutrition, too.
