Angry Question

I know that my weightloss will be slower because I do not have as much to loose but is it normal for me to only loose a pound or two every couple of weeks? I have upped my protein and started exercising and that did not budge scale so I dropped some protein and calories and nothing. Then lost a pound a week ago monday and then 2 on tuesday. then nothing until today and dropped 2 pounds but I am not sure they will stay off until tomorrow. You saw what I ate yesterday, is that what I need to do to loose weight? eat almost nothing? I am sorry I am very frustrated and I know i need to be patient. but I feel like I am doing something wrong? any help would be appreciated.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You have lost 30 pounds since surgery....thats a pound a day! You are doing great!
You and I are both lightweights, so we lose way slower than others. Be patient with your body and keep changing up your workout to surprise your body. Also, make sure you are getting all your protien and water in. If you dont, your body holds on to everything thinking its starving. Ya gotta feed the machine!!!!!

Agreed, shake up your workouts, sometimes even taking a couple of days off can help.

Best of luck!!

How about your inches and clothes?
Scale numbers aren't the only numbers to watch, you know.

I lost almost 15 before surgery and the 2 lbs i thought i lost yesterday came back today. I am not loosing inches either. One of the reasons I am freaking out about it AGAIN is because my charge nurse told me I did not look like I had lost anything and that I wasted my money on this surgery since it obviously failed for me already! I came home and cried and cried. I know I need to be patient but when someone says something like that to you it makes you doubt everything.

Sarah~ have faith that you did what was right for you. You will start losing based on what others have said. Don't let one person tell you that and give you negative thoughts. That's why we're all in this process, to feel better about ourselves. You just need to tweek things and see what works for you. That nurse shouldn't have said to you what she did and I think I'd talk to the doctor about that. The thing you need most is positive energy, not someone making you doubt what you did, especially the health care person you're dealing with. That was horrible for her to say to you. Call your doctor, talk to him/her and see what they have to say, if they have suggestions.

Not to panic you, but this may be due to your previous surgery. You probably will need to give it more time than others for your weight loss to kick in. Just be patient (easier said than done, I know) and stick to your surgeon's program.
Also the nurse was very unprofessional in her comment.

the nurse that said that to me works in the facility I work in NOT in my surgeon's office. I know that it will take more time but it is frustrating when your co worker's ask on a daily basis how much you have lost and you have to say nothing and then your boss makes a comment like that and you feel like you cant say anything back because she is your boss. i will try to quit worrying about it and focus more on protien. thanks everyone i really do appreciate!

I didn't see what you ate yesterday, but it's possible you are not eating enough. Your body goes into starvation mode and hangs on to every bit of fat it can because it thinks you are starving. Make sure you are getting all of your protien, then add some carbs like applesauce, mashed potatoes.

I'm with you on the "not that much to lose". I'm dropping about a pound a week, and sometimes it's twoo weeks before I drop that pound. But it IS coming off. Early on, I lost a bit faster but never more than a pound or two at a time.

Also, you are still fresh from surgery and your body is in shock at what has happened to it. It takes a while before it decides you are OK and starts letting the pounds go. Hang in there, it WILL happen.
