| losing control??
ok so every day i wake up lately with good intentions and i do real well for the first part of the day then all of a sudden something takes over and i am eating things i shouldnt...it is getting really frustrating and depressing, i go to the gym and work my butt off and i know how to eat now and i feel like i am losing control, i know i cannot eat nearly what i did b4 but i am freaking here, the last week i have been bouncing within 3 pounds and i know it is because of the "messing up" i have been doing!! i am not done losing weight and i want this to stop!! i dont know why i would do this either, i feel so great about my new life and body, so why would i sabatage it?? i feel like i can eat more now too and it is freaking me out!! i will NEVER go back to where i came from!!! and i guess that it what scares me most!!

Anything that's stressing you out? That could be making you eat unconsciously.
Also, how about your fluids? You may be dehydrated. Sometimes, hunger and thirst can get mixed up, so when you feel the urge to eat, drink first. If your sodium/salt intake is high, that will make you thristy and crave, too.

FOCUS!!!! You can do this...you've lost a LOT of weight, and you know how to make it work in your favor!! Go back to basics...PROTEIN first, veggies 2nd...we all have days where we feel or KNOW we ate too much, but as Doc says, it's still NOWHERE the amounts we used to eat pre-op!
My trick with hunger is to POUR on the fluids...that usually fills me up and hunger passes....it seems to keep me from grazing....and I still try to stick to 3 meals a day with maybe one healthy snack!

im right there with ya. i plan my meals but by the afternoon im so far off its not even funny. and its stupid things like rice cakes. sure a serving is 10 mini cakes but when you keep munching you can eat the whole bag (the small one) and then you've thrown away about 350 calories.....no clue how to get back on track being that i dont even realize WHILE im doing it, that im doing it. ive decided just to not keep the stuff in the house. seriously. if i want a bag i will have to go to the store and buy ONE bag.
if anyone else has suggestions please share. i dont want to be 260 lbs again!

I don't really have any advice because I haven't had surgery yet but I can totally relate to feeling frustrated about "sabotaging" yourself. I go to the gym and workout for about 2hours and sure as the night is dark, I end up eating uncontrollably even though I am not hungry. A woman who had WLS told me that they did surgery on my stomach not my brain so old habits die hard. Don't be down on yourself. Look at all you've accomplished! (((HUGS)))

| also, plan your food for the day, prep it and time it out then when you do have the urge to grab something, you have good, planned for choices. Someone told me to drink when I crave salt and it has helped - I'm not very good at getting in my fluids - constant battle.
