Angry Hubby putting a damper on things!!!!

I have been very happy with my progress and the husband makes comments on how great I am looking, but today he wants to nag about my buying new clothes. I am in 14's and had to buy some since I did not have but a couple things in that size. I will be going into 12's before too long and will have to pick up a few things then too and so on, and so on etc...
Granted, I have hit the clearance rack at Cato's, Walmart, and Goody's. I have not spent high dollars except on a couple of bra's. All of my old clothes are sagging and bagging and it is kinda of hard to stay excited about how well you are doing when you look all frumpy in the mirror! I do not charge. I only spend what I have in the bank and that is after all my bills are paid. We have seperate accounts so I am not spending any of his money!!!!! He thinks I need to wait and buy clothes when I hit goal. I guess he expects me to tie a rope around my waist to hold up my drawers!!! It just really frustrates me to no end that he cannot just let me do my little bit of bargain shopping and be happy with myself. It makes me wonder if he is exhibiting some insecurities and thinking if I look frumpy no one will notice me. And he definelty is not making browny points, if you now what I mean, when he makes me so mad!!! Okay..done venting now!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

At the beggining when my bra got so big he wanted me to wait a little longer becasue I am flying in and out of cloths so fast. But I told him it is getting hard to keep my boobs in the bra cups becasue the bra is so big under my boobs that my boobs are flooping out underneath. So he said ok go get one and I did and fits soo much better than my old one. Now with cloths like my tops he is all for me getting new ones because the tops are sooo baggy on me and he knows that I need new ones. And the fact when we get together with family, they are making the comment that I need new tops now. So that seems to bother my husband. So yesterday when we came home I went threw my daughters cloths. Now my husband likes the smaller pants that I tried on of my daughters cloths she gave me. Becasue she wears the same style pants that I do and my hubby likes them, well now my daughter has a way different style of tops and I do not care for the tops and my husband diffinatly said no way are you going to wear them, because the tops are so short and I like them long enough to cover my stomach. So he told me to buy some, I should have ordered them a week or so ago but I am the one who is holding off on ordering tops. I am so scared that they are not going to fit very long becasue I have been in and out of so many tops and pants, it is unbelievable. But that is a good thing for me flying threw cloths. Thank goodness that I got all those pants from my daughter or I would be in really bad shape with pants, becasue I am a person who needs alot of different colors of pants. I should actually break down this noon and order those two tops that I want from romans catalog.
To buy cloths that fit makes you feel much better with yourself and when a person looks good you feel good. That is why I keep on trying on my daughter pants and I keep on sewing in my tops but you can only sew in so much before the top becomes out of shape. My husband also let me buy a new sewing machine becasue my old one is so bad and does not work right and he knows I want to sew me some tops now that I have lost alot of weight. I have not sewed myself any tops for so many years and I am excited to get back into sewing me some tops again. I have some material laying around and I can make me some tops out of them and also I am going to have some new tops that I am going to order soon. I am sorry for rambling on and on, but I get so excited on certain topics. SORRY
I say buy yourself some cloths when you need them and a person feels so much better with yourself when you look good!!!!!!!

If it is your money that you have worked for then I would go and buy whatever I needed regardless of what he says since he is not paying for your clothes. It is important to look good for yourself. You are right in that he may have insecurities but you can't wear a tent all your life

whether it is his money, your money or joint money he should be a little more supportive. i do understand what he means about the clothes being a waste because when i go shopping thats how i feel even though i shop anyway. thank god my dh does not complain and is so happy to see me enjoying myself.

just explain that to hubby that is makes you feel good and maybe he will understand from a different point of things.

good luck hun

Why don't you go out and buy some "oversized" clothes for you "other half" and make him wear those to work for a few weeks? Maybe he'd understand how it feels. I know I had a difficult time mentally buying new clothes, as I was changing sizes. But I did buy a lot of good used clothing from a local hospice that were brand new or very close. At first I didn't mind wearing baggy clothes, as I was used to that being BIG. But once the weight is coming off, properly sized clothes are really a lot more comfortable. Don't know why he'd complain--bills are paid and it's your money.

Sorry to hear your husband is not as supportive as he could be. I feel as long as you are earning the money you have a right to spend some of it too. I am fortunate there as my sister who did the Dr Gotts no sugar/no white flour diet went from an 18 to a 10 and I got all her hand me downs. She is shorter than I am so I had to let the hems down but for free clothes. I have also hit the consigment stores and any sales especially for tops. My husband who went thru all this 3 yrs ago had to be forced to buy anything until his pants were falling off.

I spent alot of time in the thirft stores the first year of loosing weight. That way nobody could complain......i went through sizes so fast it was a waste to buy new...just a suggestion. He really should however be more supportive of your success. Congrats on doing so well and keep up the great work.

If it wasnt for the fact I had clothes still with tags on them and in smaller sizes I would be in trouble myself. I bought them thinking they would fit. They didnt. I refused to return them. Now they have really come in handy. I will say I pulled some shorts out the other day thinking ok there new I wont have to get many but they are already falling off me and by the time I go to wear them I wont be able to.

This is a part of the surgery. Clothes. I myself am ready to hit the thrift stores for a few tops and bottoms. Im not currently working but.... when I start back I will surely have to go make some purchases myself I dont wanna do !
