| Super Moderator | Hi tammy, how far out are you now? Keep us posted on how you are doing, too, we're waiting to hear from you. Now, about this chewing and spitting...you'll have to be very careful about this even though immediately post op you won't be able to actually stomach the food. If you let yourself get into the habit of doing this everytime you want to eat, you are in danger of sabotaging yourself by allowing your old brain to rule your eating habits. You are experiencing that something called "head hunger". It would be best not to succumb to the temptation of putting solid food in any form in your mouth while you are still instructed to stay with liquids. In the meanwhile, try to "purge" yourself and your palate of the taste of the kind of food that got you into trouble. The whole point of this surgery is for you to learn new and healthy eating habits and food choices, while your body loses weight from the stress of major surgery. Once you have lost the weight, and your body has healed, the only thing that guarantees that you will be able to maintain the weight is the new and healthy lifestyle you have acheived while recovering from your surgery. Don't beat yourself up if you happen to get off track, but make sure you get back on track as quickly as you can, and try to avoid habits that can make you go off track easily. ((((((HUGS))))))) DocSanae

Height: | I did that too. You are not alone in it. Don't stress it is my advice. Be careful and it really isn't the best to do, but I understand why you did it. Janae |

5' 6" Height: | I didn't do it, but I sure thought about food a lot!!! I would drink some protein and it just took a little till I was full. I understand, though. I was having food thoughts before I was out of the hospital. Now is not nearly as bad...were a lot worse for me then. I still have them though. You are not alone. Good luck on your recovery. Straight and narrow is the way. Kat |

5' 6" Height: | Hi Tammy, Cream of wheat and LF ricotta is still one of my favorites. I put H2o in a cereal bowl, add 3 T. dry COW. I nuke for 1 min., stir well to avoid lumps, nuke another minute, stir out lumps and make a hole in the center. I then put 1/4 c. LF ricotta in center, and cover it with some COW, being careful not to mix. I nuke for another 40 secs. or so. I sprinkle on 1/2 pkg of equat around the edges and across the top and take little tiny bites, making it last for a half hour. It agrees with me and the heat makes my pouch feel good. Hope this helps. Kat |
