Thumbs up Wife's RNY 9 month check up

I've written here about the snacking on dried peas multiple times, and now I'll tell you why. My wife had a gastric bypass in 1980. Many issues with that surgery, and 3 minor surgeries to to repairs. My surgeon agreed to do a RNY revision on her last July. Since the revision, she has great difficulty in eating most foods. She had her 9 month post op visit with the doc today. All of her protein and vitamin levels are in the normal range. She takes the same liquid vitamin I do to. But I was extremely worried about her protein levels. The only protien I know she gets for sure is a cup of oatmeal every morning (I make it) and dried peas as a snack ALL DAY LONG. In the last month, she's used up almost a 20 pound bag of the dried peas. Since her protein levels are fine, I know the peas do provide a good amount of protein. The bowl of oatmeal is only 5 grams of protein, and I doubt she gets over 25-30 grams of protein from any other foods. So the dried peas do exactly what I've said, provide a good source of protein. Her test showed that today. She is 5' 10" tall, was 232 at surgery day, and now weighs 171. She did not do the surgery for any more weight loss, just to feel ok and be in control of her bowels. I'm so glad she is doing this well--I was truly worried about her. Doc said she was not anemic either.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I am glad she is doing better. And wow to have had this back in 1980 that is right when it was first coming into its own I think.. And I think I had the dried peas a while back but is there a place you get them on a regular basis?
