Hi Jenn & all here,
This is my First post since Jenn told me about this site. OMG i love it here. What a wealth of knowledge. I have been reading here a lot and see all the weight losses. CONGRATS TO ALL!!
I had been to a support group meeting and made up my mind to have surgery, before asking her. As for Jenn i see her during the week i work with her. i didnt know she had surgery but saw the loss and said Hey what are you doing? then she told me and that was only a month out for her . she/you LOOK Great Woman!!! your an inspration to me! Thanks Jenn.
i'm in the waiting game now for the date of my own Open RNY surgery. Dr said May or June haha yestrday would be good. i'm so excited and i cant wait.... oh but wait i must bummer!!
i saw the dr in feb weightedin @ 341 then saw him again in march weighted @ 344, 3 1/2 lbs more GGRRRRR and had cut back in my eating was making better chioces whats up with that? i was so mad at my self and the Dr to. he said i was still eating for 342. i guess maybe i was. i saw the nutritionist for the second time that day to got a meal plan talked about what happend i still dont get it!! well i'm eating even less now and my home scale still says EE LOL Grr have to get to 335 for my scale to register haha not there yet and its been 2 weeks. He isnt requireing me to loose any but i sure dont want to gain any more haha i have enough to loose.
Thanks for showing me this new Home!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome to the board and you will love it here, the people here are just so wonderful and very supportive and tons of information. They have helped me so much threw my journey so far and I would be lost without them. I would not be as far as I am today if it was not for them and this place is my second home. We live so far away from a support group and this is my support group becasue we are all in the same boat and we all understand eachother. My family and freinds support me all the way but it is not like talking to people that are in the same shoes as I am. These people understand what we go threw. Welcome and before you know it you will be on the losers side of the bench.

Welcome to the site. Im Vickie. Im glad you found us. The one thing I found to help me before surgery was cutting down the soft drinks. I used to be a 4 can a dayer. I cant tolerate diet drinks either. I was left with water. Fresh food is a good choice over processed any day also. This is how you will have to eat after surgery anyways. It taste so much better also! This is the time of year to where alot of fresh vegtables are comming out of the states and are very affordable. I went from April last year until Sept without gaining weight following this. Of course I cheated some on the way because I could but it put things into a bit of perpective for me.

My son who is now 23 still lives at home and he will tell you its because of the food LOL!!! He will tell you when we started cooking eveything at home and not using alot of processed foods he felt better. This is a child who is very lean and muscular. No more frozen family meals to heat and eat for us. Yes it takes a bit more time but the taste of it is unbeatable. I hope this helps some. You dont have to do it all at once but just start trying a bit and mabye it will help. Congrats on your decision.

Welcome, glad you joined us. My doc didnt require me to lose either, thankfully. If I could have lost, I'd have done it sooner! It took awhile for me to stop the soda pop and cookies, etc. Just work with the nut and hopefully they'll get you pointed in the right direction.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Don't be upset that your weight isn't going down yet when you are following your nut's instructions, the body needs time to catch up with the thought.

HI Everyone,
Thanks so much for the warm welcome here i already feel its home. i read on this site till my eyes can't see any more and then i hate to leave affraid i might miss something good.
i know i will loose at some point. I was just frustrated when i had been making better choices and cut back and then still gained. Now makeing better choices again will see what happens this time.
My Dr set up through our hospital at the Wellness Center Pool a 1 hr. class to do water exercise 1 evening a week. its wonderful 92 degrees. man what a work out to. Classes are for 6 weeks. i figure it will bring me right up to my Hope surgery date.
Thanks for all your sharing and Caring
Cheryl
