Default How much???

Hi all, it has been a while since I have posted, but I still check in now and again and see how you all are doing.
Things are going great. I am 4 months post op, I am down 89 lbs and I am both physically and emotionally healthier. I definetely have a new life.
I spent most of the winter skiing - yes I am a skiier again - WOW it is so weird that i think exercise is fun.
Have a quick question for you all. How many calories or whatever you measure do you eat in a day. I read the what are you eating posts and I find that I am eating considerably more than what most of you post, however I am still losing weight. I am exercising lots. I only eat when I am hungry, make pretty good choices, and really try to be in tune with when I am hungry. I just seem to eat so much more than others.
Have any of you been given an outline of what our intake should be. I read on a post the someone's doctor said that do not exceed 1400 calories a day. Anyone else have any feedback?
I attached a pic of me and the kids on top of MT Washington

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Great pic! You look and sound like you are doing so well. As far as the eating I may not be much help as I am 3 months out, but I feel like I eat more than a lot of people too. As long as you are making good food choices and losing weight, you must be doing it right!

You look great up there on the top of the Mt. As far as the eating I am usually eating any where from 700-950 a day it varies from day to day. I would keep doing what you are cuz it is working, you are loosing.

It was my surgeon who told me that about the 1400 calories per day if it stalled for 2 months. I think its based on your height and your desired weight. I have never did the math for me to stay at my goal if i ever get there on how many calories per day I shouldnt go over. Mabye he did that based on me personally i dunno. You have done wonderful with your weight loss. It always starts to slow down after a while.

Talking I am green with envy!!

I wanna go skiing too, I haven't had the time/chance to in several years and I miss it.
Okay, now that I have if off my chest that I am totally JEALOUS of you in the wonderful pic
Congratulationson your wonderful weight loss, you are beautiful

Calculating from your height, your maintenance cals should be around 1600 - 2000 depending on yoru activities. If you work out and exercise a lot, on the higher end. If not, on the lower end. Now, with years of carrying execess weight. your metabolism rate may have gone down, so, about 200 kcals less probably still works for you.
MisVickie said her dr said 1400, and her height is just an inch over yours, so that amount is a good reference. You need to take your age into account, too, the younger you are, the higher your metabolism rate, so the more calories you can consume and still lose.

For now, since you are losing, don't worry too much about your intake.

(((((HUGS)))))))

That picture could win a contest ~ the pink is an awesome contrast. You sound like you're doing wonderful It is highly personal, your body will do its thing in its own time. With the level of exertion skiing demands, I think you need more intake than someone who walks 30 mins a day. Congrats on doing so well.
