Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | You need to exercise. I began short walks about 2 days after surgery. Only a couple of houses down the street and back. Repeated for a couple of days. Then extended to 6 houses or so, etc. Finally got up to making it around the block, which is 1 1/4 miles. Yes, in hotter months in southern CA, I take walks early in the morning or in the evening when it cools down. I also bring my pepper spray with me for unruly dogs or "other dangers" in the evening. Walking is the only exercise I do, and it's worked well for me. You just need to exercise every day, and once you're a few months out, you could cut it back to 4-5 days per week. Exercise and good water intake are important factors in losing weight, as well as food choices and portion control.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | You sound pretty normal to me, not really hungry, not really ready to try anything else food wise. I think that's normal for 3 weeks out. It will change...and change again....you just have to go with it ! And as for exercise, that doesn't necessarily happen over night either - but you sound like you know what you have to do, and if you don't do it today, try again tomorrow, baby steps to a new you! We have to relearn so much, but you can do it!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Just stick to the plan that your surgeon gave you...try not to jump ahead to different foods too fast. The one thing that saved me was tuna! It is extremely high in protein and you can get the little 2.9 oz cans. I never had a problem with them in my pouch at all. And the Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal is awesome...Banana Nut Bread. |
