Unhappy I am worn out and beat down!

I have been watching my brothers kids since he got custody of them and promised him that I would watch them through the summer, but man, I am just slap worn out!! I get up at 3:30 am and drink some coffee and jump on my bike for 30 minutes and take a shower, then I leave my house at 5:30 am to head to my brothers (he lives about 30 minutes away with no traffic). My nephew gets up at 6am and I wake my niece up at 7am to get them fed and her ready for school. I drop her off at 8:20 and we go back to the house to keep him busy for the day...he is a sweet boy, but man can he find trouble. During the day, I do the dishes, wash clothes, pick up and so on...PLUS take him to the park everyday (and find the time to get in 30 minutes of an exercise video). Then I leave to get her from school at 2:30. I get back to their home and give them a snack and watch the clock until it is time for my brother to get home! I get back to my house around 4:30-5:00 and I am slap worn out!!! I cant find the time to get anything done around my home! I am a little upset because my brother lives on family land with about 7 other family members who all told him that they would be there for him while he was going through this transition of sole custody of the kids. I seem to be the only one that is doing anything and it is really pissing me off BAD! I NEED A VACATION! I had more time while I was working than I do now. My brother does weekend drills for the Reserves once a month on the weekends and you guessed it...I cover that one too! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Thanks for letting me vent...I can not bring this up to my brother, because I dont want to hurt his feelings. I know that what I do for him means a lot...we have mutual friends that he constantly talks to and does nothing but praise me. I just can not wait for the summer to get here and be over with so that I can have my life back. Is that selfish of me? What to do...what to do!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You're a great sister, he's lucky to have you in his life. Hang in there, what you're doing is so great and one day you're time will come. I honestly believe good comes to those who help others in times of need. You'll be blessed because you're being a blessing.

Awww, (((((HUGS))))))
Can't you bring them to your home, if not everyday, maybe a couple of times a week or whatever?
For the children, after the unstable environment they had, it is better to have one person taking care of them as a stabilzer, rather than having many people come and go, so though it's tough for you, you are offering them a stable environment, and a very much needed root in their lives.
Kudos to what you do for them.
I do hope you'll get your vacation time soon, though.
Hang in there,

Thanks Doc! I bring him to my house once a week if my husband is off, but with gas the price it is, it really isn't reasonable. I fill up twice a week ($90.00) and he gives me what he can afford for gas when he can. I would NEVER ask him for money, but when he insists, I take it. It is really sad when it comes to the kids, my nephew is calling me mommy now! I try to correct him each time, but I suppose that it is what he wants! You know. They havent seen their mom since the court date, she has made NO attempt to see them at the Visitation Center. Sad, but true!
My vacation is coming and I can not wait. My husband and I are driving from Florida to NC and then on to Missouri, Arkansas and back to Florida. We are going for 2 weeks and then I will come back and start looking to go back to work P/T again.

Caring for your own kids can be tough, but when you have to get up so early and drive to take care of someone elses... it can be down right exhausting! Your brother is blessed to have you in his life and it seems like he really appreciates it. It would just be so much easier if they were closer or you could get a break once in a while. Maybe if some of those family members offered to help with some laundry or cleaning it would help take the burden off of you. Is there anyway you can ask any of them for some help? Who is helping while you're on vacation?

Ditto Doc...

I Would Say Go To Your Home With The Boy While The Girl's At School, That Way You Can Get Much Needed Things Done Around Your Own Home...
You Are A Blessing To Your Brother, & Its Wonderful That He Has Such An Amazing Sister As You Are!!!!!!!

Could You Possibly Ask One Of The Family Members That Live Close By To Help Out On Their Days Off/ Say 2 Days Per Week???

Good Does Come To Those Who Help Out Others, & Especially The Situation With Your Brother..
I'm Sure The Kids Love Having You Around!!
Your Such A Great Aunt & Sister To Do This..

Hope You Feel Rested Soon..
Lol,

Thanks Kelly! I doubt that anyone is going to be willing to do anything, as they all have their own lives. That is the way that I see it. LOLOL. My mom is working, but trying to get disability from her stroke that she had in the hospital due to a "cerebrialvascular ACCIDENT" (sp). My nephew is only 3, so when he turns 4 at the end of the month, he will begin a state funded Prek class and that will help. My brother should be getting some sort of child support by then so he can afford to pay the $65 a week for his after Prek child care and my niece has before and after care at school that is $80.00 a month. It is just the summer that would kill him right now. That poor boy only makes about $29,000 a year...which is $4000.00 too much to get assistance for childcare until he starts to get his child support. I am veryyyyyyy proud of my brother for all the he has accomplished over the years and will always support him in any way possible. I will even cover the day care when I get back to working if need be. I do enjoy spending the time with the kids...we have bonded so much and they are doing so well now. My niece hasnt missed a day of school since he has had them versus 3 days a week when mom had them out till what ever time of night! ARGHHHHHH~~ As for vacation, he will have them in day care...I am going to MISSOURI and I am going Diamond Mining! LOLOLOLOL
I guess that I shouldnt complain about the things that I do over there, I do it because I love him! And I know how hard it is on 2 people, let alone a single dad!

My brother is going through the same thing right now and I wish my nieces mother would just stay away. She doesn't really want to be with Taryn she just wants to show that she can be in charge. She is a 24 year old immature so and so I will say cause I don't want to say here what I really think but if their mother is staying away because she doesn't want to be with them then I feel that is good because my nephew has problems with his mother he is from my brothers first marriage. And his mother comes and goes and its soooo hard on him. My father left when I was 12 and I have never seen him since and you know I learned when I got older that if he is that bad a person not to want to see his own kids then I am better off.. I know its hard for you right now but I am sure its hard for your brother as well I am sure he feels like he is imposing on you, And he doesn't get to spend as much time with the kids himself as he would like I am sure. I dont know him so I cant say if you should talk to him about it all or not. I guess that also depends on how stable he is feeling right now too. But in the end you are doing something for these kids that their own mother wouldn't and to me that makes you a saint. Family is family hang in there and like Doc said it is better for them to have a stable person with them daily, so they know who is coming through the door that day. And your brother I am sure will never forget you for this. So I will send prayers and hugs and some energy your way and come and vent when ever you need to but you are doing the best thing for those kids and your brother. Smile they will be grown up before you know it and you will also have this time with them to remember..
