Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  B12 question  I have been taking the B12 liquid under the tongue but the last few months for some reason about every other day after I take it I get like really hot flashes on my face and neck and than my head, neck and arms especially my arms from my elbows down break out in a bunch of little bumps and they itch like crazy. This lasts about a half and hour and than it starts to go away. The last one I quit taking it and now I am so tired. I have a hard time not sure it it is normal or not but I suffer from a panic and anxiety disorder so when it happens I get this little adrenaline rush and than I start the freaking out cycle. I was just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with the B12 and what else I could do.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | My doctor said that the hot flush happens from B vitamins because they flood into the bloodstream so fast. We need such a large dose of B12 to absorb enough and it causes the hot flush side effect. Have you tried the B12 shot? I get those once a month and I don't notice the flush from them.

| Super Moderator  | You may be breaking out, not due to the VB12 itself, but some other ingredient in the liquid. Keep in mind, medication, no matter in what form, is not 100% whatever, but mixed with other things that stabilizes the state of the chem, makes it easily absorbed, etc, and these extras can cause trouble for some people. So, just by changing from liquids to pills or shots, may resolve the problem. Be sure to check things out with your dr.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | ok was having some pain in my stomach for a few days and went to see the Doc. Did a bunch of blood tests to see if maybe an ulcer is starting. One of the enzymes was high and have to wait until Monday to get the HP test back. They think there is something in the B12 that I am maybe allergic to so after I get the rest of my test results back next week they are going to address that and probably start me on the shots. Thanks for all your advice everyone.
