Default Gigantic Pouch

O.K. I'm really wondering if my Dr. made my pouch small enough. I am almost 6 weeks out and tonight I was a bad girl and ate two 4 inch square peices of pizza and some veggies off a salad. When I was done I was very full but it all stayed down just fine. Before surgery I was under the impression that my pouch would be the size of my thumb and only hold 4 oz. tops. I am just bewildered about how much I can eat. I feel like the bad side effects of the surgery that are supposed to help you lose weight (dumping, vomiting when eating too much) just aren't there for me. Granted, pre-surgery I would of had 1/2 the whole pizza but still, I am scared.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

smease I could of written that post myself 9 months ago. From the start it seemed I was eating way more then anyone else my same time out. Our pouches are the size of a golf ball or an egg. Just because you were able to eat those 2 pieces this time doesnt mean next it will work, some days it seems you can get way more in there then others. Dont stress out honey you are doing just fine

Salad can be deceiving too. Salad is mostly moisture, and will "pack down" into a smaller space. This means you could really eat a 8 oz salad without much of a problem, since it packs down so tightly. I normally have a piece of string cheese and a bowl of salad a couple of times each week for lunch, or once in a while for dinner.

I agree with the rest. Somtimes it fits. Some times it dont. As for the dumping etc..... well I still dont dump off sweets but let me have somthing that has oil in it , on it, cooked in it or anything of that sort and I will be dumping majorly. Your pouch is a funny thing. One day you can eat like you did and then again it wont let you take anything or very little. Your progressing very well from what I can tell. Take care.

Yes maam,I agree too, some days I can eat enough or more....and then today for example, three bites of breakfast and I was done. See, so we are all about the same at times. Take care! Kathy

Hi! wow! our stats are almost the same! I too have been through this.... I actually thought my surgeon just pretended to do the op! lmao

Keep your portions small, and dont assume that it will fit every time.

As for the dumping/foamies... I havent dumped yet, not off sweet stuff nor fat but I do keep the limits at or below the recommended amount.

I have had the foamies and they are looking into why either a grouchy pouch or a stricture, we arent sure yet, if it gets worse, then yeah, will have to go back in.

Dont worry, you will be fine.

Its def a hit or miss game. You will find your way. Some days I can eat a whole small chicken breast and other days a few bites of it. Good luck.
