Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | YOUR SLIPPERS and ROBE being you will be doing alot of walking. I wasnt able to concentrate enought to read. I did bring my address book and calling cards. FOR me the hospitol phone only allowed local calls to the hospitol town so i needed the call card to make phone calls out even to my family! SO for me that was important to have with me. GOOD LUCK, also dont forget to do shopping for when your first home...sugar free ice pops, cans of broth, water, propel, sugar free jello, sugar free kool aide ....of course other things really depends on your surgeons protocal. I was on clear liquids for two weeks before i did level 2 liquids and added protein shakes in and yogurt smoothies that were lo carb/lo sugar kinds. YOUR chewable multi vitamins, tums, i had chewable Gas X on hand and used them and liquid tylenol as well. GOOD LUCK! ill add to this as i can.... hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

| Like Lisa I took a robe and slippers, but never got into my nightgown, I stayed in the hospital robe most of the time. I didn't get rid of my IV until the day I was discharged so it was easier. The same with what I was to eat..clear liquids the first two weeks...They told me that it I could drink as much as I could as long as it took me 20 minutes to drink a 1 oz cup. And at first I did...hehehe..I was too afraid to go about it any faster. You will know. Sugar free popcycles were a life saver for me...especially when I was thirsty. As you heal you need to take time and go slow. Liquid tylenol helped alot too. Good luck to you....... ROBBIN

| WLS Master Guru | I too stayed in the hospital gown the whole time. One thing I wish I had bought was an extra pillow. They did not have an extra one for me, so one of the nurse's folded up a blanket for me to hold against my stomach when sitting up. I could have used a pillow for that, and for the ride home. S |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | YES due to all the equipment that was hooked up to me besides the IV, no personal night gowns for me just the hospitol gown. JUST easier but definitely have a nice pretty comfy one for when you finally get home and showered to wear! HUGzzzzzzzzzzzzz I did bring my makeup...WHEN i was bored in the am i did freshen up and try to make myself look better! WITHOUT my shower i doubt it helped but at least it made me feel good to have a little lipstick on and cheek color!!!!

Height: | I agree about the makeup thing. I would maybe bring an MP3 player if you have one. This helped me out since my roomie was obnoxious at times and it helped drown her out....lol. I would recommend an extra pillow for the car ride home too. We had to go through the cobbled streets of Philly on the way home and that was not fun. Chapstick and the calling cards are a good thing to have. Best of luck. Janae |
