i think u can still lose weight beyond a year too christy...from what my surgeon says the first 6 months are the fastest, then it slows down but after the year it really slows down and the weight gain he was talking about he said usually happens at about 2 years...but im sure it dosnt happen to everyone!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Yea mine told me 2 years but it depends. The first 6 months is the fast time according to him. Then he told me if I only lost 1 lb a week he would be thrilled. We whoosh it off as some say and then again we just hang for a while. Patience is a verture in this isnt it.

Everyone is different. My mom has kept all her weight off and will be 7 years out (RNY) in Aug. She started at 287 and now weighs around 135ish. I also have an aunt that had RNY about 8.5 years ago and still gaines and loses and gaines and loses. She bounces about 20lbs. She hits that 20lb gain and then starts watching herself and can take it off quickly. I think the tool will always help to assist us if we gain...just get back to the program. Everyone is different because not everyone follows the rules. Not everyone maintains a healthy life style...that will cause weight gain. Those that stay healthy will be the most successful!!

You can lose weight whenever. And I mean whenever. Take a look at dave(ragdolldude) he lost about 5lbs very recently, he is over 2 years out, and when he first came on board, he said that he was maintaining at 204, and was happy, didn't expect to lose any more. Yet look what happened.
I also know CraigT lost as much as 30lbs in the last couple of years, and he'll be 11 years out this May, in fact, the last time I saw him was before this last 30lb loss, so I sure am looking forward to seeing him next time.
